Chapter 37
Sunlight tore through the bleak room and woke Dawne from her deep sleep. She rolled over and surveyed the scene before her. Last night she hadn’t made it back into her bed room.
“I have to go.” Chaos had whispered at the window.
She had merely nodded and watched as he thrust himself out into the night sky. It felt like a surreal moment in time, having his lips on hers and the feeling of his wings smothering her deliciously.
Dawne rose slowly and made her way towards the window with tattered curtains. Her heart felt heavy for some reason and she felt like crying.
All she could think about doing was sleeping the day away and then hope to see Chaos that night.
Instead she made her way out of the house and down the dirt road.

Chaos stumbled his way into the cathedral, exhausted yet elated. He had never felt such strong conflicting feelings before.
He had kissed Dawne. When he had stood staring at her, her hair all disheveled glowing in the moonlight despite her dark aura. It almost felt like he would die all together if he didn’t press his lips to hers.
Right as Chaos touched down inside the cathedral he felt a strong compulsion to move his feet. All his pleasant thoughts turned quickly to extreme panic.
“Oh no.” He breathed thinking of his encounter with the angel.
The compulsion grew stronger and he squinted his eyes to see the dark purple magic ensnaring his legs and feet. He took an unconscious heavy step forwards followed by another.
“No.” Chaos struggled as sweat grew on his brow. Don’t give in, fight it! Fight. He kept telling himself over and over.
Just then Dious sauntered in from around the corner his black muzzle opened as if laughing at his efforts.
“What are you looking at? Disgusting creature.” Chaos wheezed out of breath as he took many more reluctant steps forwards.
Finally his exhaustion won and he allowed his fathers enchantment to pull him forwards. Before he had barely entered the throne room his fathers voice filtered through the air.
“Ahh Chaos, how nice of you to join me.” His voice was slow and even more menacing than usual.
“Lucifer.” Chaos practically growled through his teeth.
“I was so hoping I would catch you the moment you returned.”
Chaos snorted, they both knew that he didn’t come here of his own accord.
“What is it you want, Lucifer?” Chaos asked pointedly, sick of these games.
The enchantment finally wore off and he came to stop in front of the evil man. He was standing in front of his throne his skeletal wings hanging limply behind him.
“Oh tsk tsk.” Lucifer tilted an arched eyebrow. “Is that anyway to speak to your father?” It was almost maddening waiting for the man to finish his slow words.
“I was just wondering how you were fairing after todays little...episode.”
“What are you talking about? Are you listening to the wind again? You know it alwa-”
“No my son I have eyes everywhere, not just the wind.”
“I don’t know what you’re ta-” Just then Chaos felt his throat seize up and he tried to swallow but to no avail.
Lucifers aura grew darker as he raised a stiff arm slowly into the air. With that Chaos felt his body rise up as well and his legs kicked violently.
“Don’t you ever dare lie to me.” Lucifers fist clenched suddenly and Chaos felt an invisible hand tighten around his throat.
“You lie to me, your own father? The one who protects you and cares for you. The one who gave you life! Yet you look me straight in the face spouting lies.” His stick straight black hair was flowing wildly around his head and his eyes turned pitch black.
Chaos fought for consciousness and was able to mumble-
“Like father, like son-” His vision began to blur and darkness crept in just before he was thrown harshly to the ground.
Chaos skid across the cold marble and gripped his bruised throat coughing as air reentered his lungs.
“Get out of my sight.” Lucifer hissed.
