Location: New Orderlands, day 5 of combat, with the 87th armor and 12th infantry

Radio: Be advised MRBM launch has been detected, we do not believe it is nuclear in nature. Seek shelter in the event it is.

Nero: Ditch the tanks! Into that building!

Nero climbed out of his tank and ran for a factory with other soldiers. NO forces had done decently well at reclaiming the city but Chinese forces would not let up. This seemed to be their trump card, whatever was in that ballistic missile could decide the winner of the battle. When most of the soldiers got inside the missile detonated.

Soldier: EMP! Throw your weapons!

The soldiers tossed their rifles to the ground as the EMP hit the building. The rear of the rifles started to shoot out electricity and a soldier with a Geiger counter detected a spike in radiation. The soldiers that didn't toss their weapons in time were met with the horrors of a black hole.

Their arms were injured as they tossed the weapons and electricity scared them. The two youngest soldiers were the last to try and toss their guns. They passed out from the electrocution and the butt of their rifles exploded. Every other rifle on the ground suffered the same fate.

NO rifles have a complex piece of technology crammed into their stock. It is a smaller, portable, portal. It opens to a pocket dimension that allows the soldiers to have near infinite ammo (enough for a month of continuous combat before needing to be recalibrated by technicians which is easy to do). The downside of this is the fact if it every looses power it begins to collapse, lightning shoot out and it explodes, radiation is dumped out in a decent sized dose(enough to give you some cancer).

It was tested against EMPs and soldiers were told what to do but that training is rarely a key concept and more of a "hey if there is an EMP toss the rifle, anyways aim at the targets and empty your magazine." As you can see it isn't practiced and in a panic we will have what happened here: tons of injured soldiers.

Nero: 87th to command! Command do you read me?

Radio: *static*

Nero: Fuck!

The tank outside better but only in the way it hadn't exploded. The soldiers that could picked up their damaged rifles and started trying to treat the injured. One of the soldiers that had passed out had gotten his arm severed by the explosion and was bleeding out. The other had 3rd degree burns across his right side, that doesn't even mention the fact his bone was visible through his elbow. A combat medic managed to get the bleeding under control and stabilize the injured two but they would not last long without hospital care.

Nero: Major, what are your orders?

Major: I don't know, head uhh, fuck. South, we head south until we reach the water, we should reach other NO soldiers by then.

Nero: What do we do about ammo?

Major: we have boxes of ammo in the NOLAVs and the APCs. Can you get the MG ammo off your tanks? We can have one 50 cal come with us.

Nero: You heard the man, go do it.

Nero and the other tankers worked on getting the supplies while soldiers stood guard and treated the injured. Once everything was salvaged they destroyed anything that could act as intelligence for the enemy like maps and radios(on the off chance the Chinese fixed them) and started to head south to the water.

The EMP had utterly FUBARed New Orderian plans. NO forces specialize in airborne and mechanized combat, it is either by helicopter or by truck that they got anything done. Without either of these and a massive drop in ammunition they were going to struggle. On the flip side Chinese forces and disabled NO anti-air and the ability for NO forces to move quickly. This allowed the communists to curb stomp NO forces back to the capital building and the area around it. The next wave of NO military support was two days out, the New Orderians would have to survive for two days with dwindling ammunition against an enemy that only got more and more toys to bomb them back to the Stone Age.

Location: New Orderian capital building, day 7 of combat

Ammunition had effectively run out at this point. Three days of non stop combat had drained resources. This isn't to say everything was going poorly. Aid should arrive soon from NATO and the militia with help from Fractured Dawn had destroyed Chinese supply lines. At this point it was who would run out of bullets first.

From the Chinese perspective all they had to do was force a surrender before the day ended, which should be easy considering the NO forces being trapped on a singular hill. From the New Orderian perspective if they held on for a few more hours they would win the war and with the guerrilla tactics being employed that was a guarantee. The NO fleet had managed to stay operation with a bit of help from sails(remember kids: every modern ship still has one for this exact purpose) and the damage control crews getting emergency power on. The capital building had diverted all of it's electricity to keeping the civilians alive in the numerous underground floors. Whenever they could they would send civilians across the water to waiting military forces there to evac them.

When NATO forces arrived they managed to once again push Chinese forces back. The NO military forces from Hong Kong had arrived and brought new weapons and more ammunition. Fighting continued for another week with both sides trying to just punch the other back. When it ended the New Orderian flag waved over the ruined city and the Chinese had been forced into a peace treaty. This offensive had wasted so many resources that US Marines had gotten far into China and threatened the capital. This threat along with the lack of soldiers(all of them were busy in New Orderia) had forced them to surrender. The treaty gave the cities around Hong Kong to the Republic of China, Hong Kong also agreed to join the Republic(for those of you that are unaware the Republic of China is the actual name of Taiwan).

China started a war that they lost, for no reason, with their only allies being literal terrorists making them tonight's biggest looser.
