NOMC Vice

A few months have passed, just enough time for the NO government to retake their territory and rebuild. The damage is immense, most parts of the city are under construction or show damage from the fighting. Apartment buildings with nicks in the concrete from bullets, office buildings with a slightly red tint to the drywall, and the tons of potholes made from debris impacting or small explosions going off. In the chaos of the past few months a few older groups have retaken control: organized crime.

There are a number of crime families, most taken out in the 2170s by the Dalnax Police Department. The ones who didn't operate in Dalnax or were smart enough to get out of town ended up facing off against the other law enforcement agencies across the country. While Dalnax had the worst of the mob, Malask and New Orderlands were also very bad, as such the NOPD, MCPD, and NOMC Metro Police pooled funds to make the NOMC Vice Unit. NOMC Vice is a collection of personnel, mostly detectives, who are tasked with handling "immoral" crimes on a large scale.

Officer: NOPD! Police!

A group of ESU officers stood with their rifles ready beside a door, after a few seconds of no response a breacher stepped forward with a shotgun. The breacher fired a shell into the door causing it to go flying open, immediately the breacher fired two more shots into the hallway while backing out so the raid team could enter. A pair of mobsters inside returned fire with their own weapons, taking hits from the buckshot which led to most dropping down in pain. The tactical team entered, shooting anyone still able to resist and kicking anyone who couldn't onto the ground.

Officer: Raid team 1 to control, we have 3 in custody, 4 dead. Send up the arrest team.

Radio: Copy, arresting team entering now. Proceed to the stairwell, backup will flush out these rooms. Raid team 2 is going to be breaching in 10.

As the raid team moved up to the stairwell another team of police officers entered, grabbing the downed suspects and handcuffing them while other personnel kicked in smaller rooms and held security. A loud series of bangs sounded from the 4th floor as breaching charges went off across the windows, this signaled the 2nd raid team dropping in from the roof and working down to the 3rd floor where most of the evidence was believed to be kept.

The stairwell had become a mess of gunfire, officers would fire upwards while mobsters sprayed down the flights of stairs. The fighting slowed the police assault drastically and it became clear that the cops wouldn't be able to secure the building at the rate things were going. Their solution was rather simple: teargas.

Supporting units in the roof had been in position, when the situation began devolving they had prepared to gas the air ducts. The assault teams had temporarily retreated, the first team staying on the ground floor while the third hunkered down on the 4th just outside of the stairwell entrance. Ten minutes passed and two police helicopters flew, when the first landed it offloaded multiple tanks of gas before taking off and letting the second helicopter do the same. The support team had gained access to the vents and now the assault could begin again.

Gas flooded in from the air vents, quickly saturating the air and making all of the mobsters cough as they breathed in the chemicals. The officers had dawned gas masks and they moved up the stairwell virtually unopposed, being able to gun down anyone who even looked like they could put up a fight with minimal resistance. The 2nd and third floors were quickly cleared leaving only the final room.

By now the gas had been shut off, the windows were broken and the gas was being vented as the arrest team dragged out the suspects the raid teams took out. The bleachers from both raid teams used halligans to force their way into the final room, being careful to not damage what is inside. The doors finally opened and the officers entered.

Detective: NOMC Vice! Stay on the ground with your hands behind your back!

The people in the room complied and the officers patted them down before placing them in cuffs. The people were not suspects, at least there was little concern that they were. Instead they were all victims. Human trafficking had become an issue, cops were spread too thin with the civil war and that meant that the mob had began selling people groups overseas and to prominent criminals in New Orderia.

This raid had been the result of a cross agency effort, evidence secured by the CEM allowed SecDiv to secure a warrant, this warrant allowed them to go through ACOM and record anything the mob did, from there NOID investigation units followed the suspects, decoded what their messages over the phone and internet meant before handing the file to the NOMC Vice Unit. The last step was the Vice Unit getting the NOPD 2nd Precinct's ESU teams and helicopters from the NOPD airfield to conduct the raid.

While this raid had gone well, it was far from ending the ongoing crisis, police units were already preparing for secondary raids to occur using evidence gathered from this one.

A/N: Sorry for the lack of updates and the shorter chapter, stuff has been happening and I haven't had much time to work on this. It's still continuing though, this story has died and come back more times than I can count so I doubt I could end it if I tried.
