The Other Side

Viceroy: Day 1

Location: Sparowa, Malask City

Adam: This... city confuses me still.

The four stranded people from far in the last stood over a pile of bodies near a wall. The corpses had been gunned down and it was clear all of them were civilians. An emblem had been spray painted on the wall, and then said emblem had been crossed out and replaced by the NO seal. 

By now the group knew a bit, they knew the earthquake had hit and the country had fallen into civil war almost immediately after. They knew the locations, or at least the districts of the twin cities. And most importantly for them: they knew who most of the factions were. 

The Lawmen were by far the best to run into, they were composed of cops who hadn't managed to evacuate or decided to head back into the cities to help others. Lawmen tended to work with the firefighting teams still in the cities and any NATO military forces they happened to link up with. The few times the 4 ran into the Lawmen they received some basic supplies and were told to head for an evacuation site, of course those sites ended up being destroyed before they could arrive.

The worst group to find nobody cared to actually learn the name of, but everyone knew who they were. The Nazis, or at least an attempt at forming something similar. Every negative trait of the New Orderian government cranked up to 11, and then all positive aspects removed. Add in a bit of racial superiority ideology bullshit and you have these extremists. The pile of dead bodies was likely the handiwork of these lunatics, the methods of "cleaning" and the insults spray painted in the area meant that was the best choice. 

The group had not actually seen much of the New Orderian military yet, they had seen the aircraft and earlier on they saw a column of military forces entering the cities, but after that they only found bodies and destroyed vehicles. This changed when they saw a spotlight shining down on them from above. In a stroke of terrible luck, the NO Army had reentered the district right as the group stood above piles of dead civilians. 

Tony: Ah fuck, run!

The soldiers above them were in a helicopter, all of them were part of Kilo Task Force and were here to purge insurgents. Right as Tony yelled that he fired two shots at the helicopter and the group began to sprint for a nearby building. In response to Tony's shooting the soldiers opened fire. Adam had been clipped by a few shots, his armor partially protected him but he was knocked down and was bleeding. Lilium and Tom each grabbed an arm and dragged him into cover as Tony fired a few shots at the aircraft with a pistol he had. The group ducked into the ruined structure as they saw two ropes drop down from the helicopter.

Loudspeaker: Attention! This is the New Orderian Army, all insurgents will have one final chance to stand down before they are killed. Allied forces from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization are here, you will be killed if you do not surrender, this is your final chance!

The group kept moving through the dark hallways before reaching a stairwell. They ran up it and they passed various things left on the ground. Clipboards, a stack of books, a shoe, and plenty of rubble. When they reached a point where they couldn't continue due to a debris pile they exited the stairwell and had a clear view of a nearby rooftop. Two insurgents ran onto the roof with rifles, only for a bright flash to envelop the building. Screams could barely be heard over the sound of gunfire and explosions as white phosphorus melted the insurgents. The 4 stood in horror as Adam continued to bleed and the fighting raged outside. They heard a bang a few floors down as a door was kicked in and they saw flashlights from down the stairwell. 

Tom: We need to keep running!

Lilium: There isn't anywhere we can go... They said we had one chance to surrender, right?
