The soldiers on the rooftop reloaded their weapons while men on the lower floors dumped anything they could into the stairwell. Hellfire and a combat engineer worked to sabotage the elevator shaft so the enemy couldn't bypass anything. Other teams set as many explosives as they could in the streets and claymores in various doorways.

When all of the traps were set the soldiers on lower levels got to the fire escapes and began to climb towards their defensive positions. The lower floors of the building had their fire escapes sabotaged after the soldiers were higher up, now the only way up would be a long and hard fight against the NO troops. The insurgents wouldn't let this be easy though, this was the entirety of the Red Morning "Resistance Movement" coming.

The RM Insurgency has been the greatest threat to New Orderia since 2189 when they were founded, almost all insurgents in the nation belong to this group. They have been tied to the war with China, the SA virus releases, the attempted attack on the Dosker Nuclear Plant, not to mention plenty of bombings, shootings, and other terror attacks. They also have the largest surplus of PLA weapons, the Chinese made sure to notify the insurgents of the stockpiles when they pulled out of the country. In short: this attack will be incredibly difficult to withstand, but if the NO forces can hold out the civil war will be close to ending.

Solkus: Holy hell, 500 plus foot mobiles from the east. Hit 'em with the 7.62.

Two soldiers on the edge of the building with LMGs mounted on the wall took aim on the insurgent column before opening fire. Hundreds of 7.62 rounds tore into the enemy forces causing the insurgents to scatter to the sides. They ducked behind cars, rubble, and any other objects left behind. While the guns did damage, the shear amount of things on the road to act as cover led to them not doing as much damage as hoped. A soldier with a rocket launcher ran up to handle that.

The launcher was rather cheap for a NATO weapon. It was based off of the US M72 LAW with 22nd century upgrades such as a better sight, the ability to reload, and it had the ability to link to a soldier's HUD if they had one. The KTF was well outfitted so this HUD was present and the soldier holding the launcher used the data readout to adjust his angle of launch.

He pressed the firing lever and the rocket launched before detonating mid air. Shrapnel slammed into the cowering insurgents after the air burst munitions went off. This blast did far more, the car directly below it burst into flames as the top crumpled down. A few seconds later it's internal battery detonated throwing shrapnel into other insurgents who were still recovering from the first detonation.

When the smoke settled the machine guns opened up again, along with a few soldiers taking pot shots to keep insurgents down. Despite NO efforts an insurgent machine gun crew had managed to set up and they were now hammering the wall with a belt fed gun. The NO troops had to duck down and two men were hit, one of which had the top of his forehead blown open by a bullet. Some medics moved over while crouching behind the cover before dragging the men down a floor to the triage area.

By now another rocket has been loaded, this one with standard HE, and the soldiers with the MG's ran down the building before poking up and firing a burst of 7.62 at the enemy gunner. While the bullets did nothing themselves, they drew the attention from the gunner towards that wall and the man with the launcher stood up before firing.

The rocket impacted the wall beside the gunners causing them to both be blown apart instantly, debris rained down as the already damaged building collapsed onto other insurgents nearby. The NO soldiers returned to their positions before firing down on the insurgents who were no longer in any position to fight. Insurgent troops ran across the street before taking shelter in various buildings, many of the men running did get hit causing a decent number of additional losses for the enemy.
