S.A. virus analysis and notes, documentation is to be restricted from the public.

Transmission and initial infection:

The S.A. virus is transmitted via fluid exchange and inhalation of airborne particles. Fluid exchange includes but is not limited to saliva, genital discharge, and most commonly blood. The airborne strain appears to burrow into the lungs and throat shortly after inhalation, causing severe damage to the tissue which results in bleeding. Blood will then continuously pour out of a host's mouth for as long as the host is alive through hemoptysis. 

The particles will then use the lungs to move themselves through the bloodstream and into the brain, where they hijack the central nervous system and increase production of blood to perpetuate the host's ability to infect more humans. 

Due to blood coming out of the victim's mouth due to excessive hemoptysis and the fact blood is a method of transmission anyone bit by a host will likely become infected with S.A. In these cases the particles will start in the bloodstream and move to the brain and lungs afterwards. After reaching the lungs particles cause tissue damage from the inside out while the nervous system is hijacked as usual. 

Symptoms:

Hemoptysis(coughing up blood), pallor(paleness of the skin), increased aggression, decreased motor functions after a 2 month period if victim was infected with airborne strain, suicidal tendencies,  hemophilia, near inability to carry out complex thought and decreased understanding of object permanence.

Notes:

S.A. is the perfect virus. Self replicating, prevents the host's death for extended periods, and a varied infection method that can get around standard quarantine procedures. S.A. gas causes hosts to grow tumors which create more of the gas which will be released upon death, this is a feedback loop. To kill an S.A.-2 host is to become an S.A.-2 host. 

The next detail is that the gas and fluid exchange are so different that the odds of both being transmission methods is next to none, no disease control unit would think to handle both at first. It took us a day to learn that and this happened after we witnessed tens of thousands die on camera. If the virus started in the United States or another nation with minimal monitoring of civilians there is a real chance it would end the world. 

The next part is what we learned the hard way. After S.A. is released onto a population if it is contained quickly the S.A.-2 hosts group up and lay down. The hosts' tumors will then develop into a plant like substance that grows rapidly in any condition. These "trees" as army personnel assigned to Q.E. operations called them, will then begin to produce an abomination of flesh and tissue. This monstrosity will tower over small buildings and will begin attempting to breach containment after a minimum of two years since initial infection.

So in short we have a virus that is able to kill you if you try and stop it, it's transmission methods are so odd that nobody would check for them both, and if you somehow contain it the thing creates giants to kill you. We know from the S.A. attacks carried out by insurgents who got virus samples and released them that S.A. is a perfect bio weapon. If we didn't see it arrive from space we would likely have blamed the CCP for it. Humanity is lucky that meteor hit an isolated district in close proximity to a large military base, and that we had cameras watching it from every angle or the world as we know it would be over.
