Not a Liar

Location: 87th armor

Time: 1545 local time

 Nero: 87th armor to command, multiple airships arriving bearing SDC logos.

Radio: We are aware, those are civilian evac ships, hold the line for as long as possible as we load in civies.

Nero: 10-4, ETA on the 5th and 9th?

Radio: Arriving tomorrow.

Despite the NR fleets being fast they took time to load because there is only two locations on Remnant suitable to land at, one in Atlas and one in Goalaria. Unloading is easy but loading troops and equipment requires them to land at one of these two locations. Getting two of these fleets loaded with troops would take a week which is the one problem NO forces in Atlas have. A conventional fleet wouldn't work due to a lack of ports and aircraft would likely crash on the way back from lack of fuel. So the only option is the long one.

As the tank crews and infantry watched the evac ships arrived the cheered. If the civilians got out they could turn the objective to winning and not defending the civies. Suddenly an Atlesian ship opened fire on the evacuation ships.

Nero: 87th to command, civilian evac ships are taking fire from Atlas airsips.

Radio: Solid copy. We have a NR frigate inbound to intercept.

The Atlas ships were unleashing hell and most of the evac ships fell from the sky onto the abandoned buildings below. At the point where there was only two evac ships left the NO frigate arrived.

Radio: This is the NOSS Krakatoa, firing rail gun in 3. 2. 1.

The rail gun fired and blew a hole threw to the other side of an Atlas ship. Said ship exploded and crashed to the ground while the other two Atlas ships finished off the evacuation ships. As the turned to fight the Krakatoa they were met with every cannon on the frigate firing. The first Atlas ship dropped but the second fired it's laser into the Krakatoa which started to lean to the side.

Radio: This is the NOSS Krakatoa, starboard engines down, we are unable to stay in the air. We will be taking this fucker with us.

Radio: This is Marshal Ventuas to the NOSS Krakatoa, you and you alone are clear to use your nuclear payload on whatever the hell you want. Godspeed. Rescue will not be arriving for you.

Radio: Affirmative, launching 4 Rancor class nuclear missiles. Krakatoa out.

The Krakatoa launched its missiles as it rammed the Atlas ship. The first went at the Krakatoa itself in an arc to wipe out any surviving Atlas forces, the next two were fired at locations with high Grimm numbers. The fourth went straight towards the floating city. Specifically the military base.

Location: Aluminumtwig's office 

Ironwood opened the broadcast he received from the NO high command expecting a surrender or an apology. That was not the case.

Marshal Ventuas: The Leader of New Orderia said something to you about a year ago. He said that if you wanted to go to war he would use nuclear weapons most likely resulting in the end of Atlas. I have chosen to honor that promise. We know you lack missile alert systems but if you look to the South you will see the nuclear missile. It will not be disarmed. We are telling this to you so you can warm civilians. You have 3 minutes to impact.

Ironwood: You are trying to scare me. Nuclear missiles would need a power you cannot possibly have in a portable container. We have artifacts that can alter the world itself instantly and you have a useless rocket and scary words to force a surrender.

Marshal Ventuas: Very well, their deaths will be on your hands.

The transmission ended as the missile got above Atlas and there was a flash. The power went out across the city. It got insanely hot and fires broke out. People disintegrated from the heat and then the shockwave hit. The windows to Ironwood's office shattered and launched him backwards. He covered his face from the glass as the walls crumbled. He fell unconscious shortly after.

Once he regained consciousness he walked towards the collapsed wall to see the mushroom cloud in front of him. His robotic arm was no longer working and none of the lights were on. He was covered in burns and the air tasted like metal. He walked closer and saw the nuclear missile missed most of the city and impacted the fields a few miles away. Despite this the damage was severe. He looked to the side to see burning buildings everywhere and widespread destruction.

After a few minutes the backup generators kicked on and another message came through from NO high command. Ironwood answered.

Marshal Ventuas: I am many things General, but a liar is not one of them. Knowing this listen closely. That missile missed entirely. It was the smallest one we have. And I am not accepting anything short of total surrender and your execution.

The transmission cut and Ironwood banged his hand on the desk. He turned back to look at the destruction and decided that the Marshal's terms will be turned around back onto him for this.

Location: NO 5th fleet, NOSS Horsemen

The side of the Horsemen had a few symbols. All are horses and they are colored, one is red, one pale, one white, and one black. Above them is a biological hazard symbol and below a radiation symbol. Around them are images of multiple shells and bullets. In the center is a skull.

Marshal Ventuas: Here are your orders men, break through the Atlas blockade, evacuate the civilians and we give a final ultimatum to the General.

Officer: Marshal Ventuas sir, we have reports of a large black creature, described as a flying whale outside of Atlas. Reports also state team RWBY from beacon academy have used magic to open a portal to another point on the planet, Vacuo. 

Marshal Ventuas: 9th fleet, prepare for warm weather, you will be heading to Vacuo after this. The previous order is being altered, break the blockade, get out men out and give the ultimatum.

The NO fleets pushed past the Atlas and Grimm and deployed S-Class dropships, the closest thing to bulkheads they have, and evacuated the remaining NO forces and equipment. It was barely a challenged because the Grimm hadn't noticed and Ironwood was busy with all the other issues.

The Grimm whale was smoking before the NO fleets arrived and Marshal Ventuas hailed Ironwood.

Marshal Ventuas: General, you know my terms. Yes or no.

Ironwood: We are nowhere close to loosing, the Atlesian spirit is stronger than ever! I will not be surrendering when you are worse off than we are.

Marshal Ventuas: Alright, you cannot back down from that statement. This ship is called the Horsemen because of something in the Bible, a religious book where I am from. It refers to the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse: conquest, war, famine, and the final is death himself. You will be seeing each soon. War and conquest are here. Famine is setting in. This ship carries death. All missiles fire. Make them regret being born.

Enough missiles were launched at that moment to drop the global temperature by a few degrees. The missiles aproached Ironwood as he stood in the remains of his office watching the streaks of smoke following the missiles. The first impacts were across Mantle to eradicate any hope of restarting. The next impacted anywhere in the surrounding area that could be used for a new city. The final 4 which were the biggest missiles NO forces ever made, the APOC-Class missile, impacted Atlas itself. The floating city split in half and dropped onto Mantle. The flashes were visible on the horizon. The APOC-Class was built to fuck regions. One of the missiles alone could have destroyed Mantle but the Marshal promised destruction and he is not a liar.

Location: Vacuo

Time: 8 hours after detonation

There was the sound of a distant explosion and a gust of wind passed through the desert city which woke people up. The decided to check what happened and found reports and photos of the smoldering crater that is the nation of Atlas. At that exact time The 9th NR fleet arrived I above the city and an NO ambassador flew down to the capital building.
