In the mid 21st century oil started to run out, and the world fell apart. Numerous NATO members split off to keep their oil reserves private and groups without oil banded together to take some. China, along with Russia, would have teamed up with Iran to secure oil in Saudi Arabia. The deal was if Iran got the land and half of the oil, the others could get the other half. Saudi Arabia was invaded by a joint force days later.

NATO, seeing this major oil reserve being invaded, deployed. The Germans were the first to arrive with the US showing up shortly after with a carrier strike group and a large USMC detachment. US forces reinforced the German lines and began to move through the desert, using tactics from the Gulf War in the 90s.

A line of MRAPs drove down a road past wrecked CCP vehicles. Airstrikes had crippled the Chinese assault and US Navy fighters had grounded enemy forces. Coalition troops had then launched an armored spearhead deep into enemy held Saudi Arabia. Logistics were a nightmare, the shear number of vehicles and soldiers moving on both sides eventually caused a slow in the assault as soldiers couldn't advance.

When the assault stalled the US army had arrived and airlifted in self propelled guns. The artillery then pounded enemy positions with the Ruskies firing rockets back. Civilian casualties became a concern when the shelling began to impact small towns through the region. US drones spotted a large number of Iranian units around an oil well, with CCP and Rusfor units nearby. A single bombing run with B52s could wipe it out, but the oil would be lost. In a war over resources, bombing the last ones was a bad idea. A different plan would be needed.

SAS teams were deployed with US Navy SEALs and US Army Rangers. USMC Raiders followed close behind. The Germans sent in armor support and would provide air coverage. The teams deployed and began taking out patrols. Fighting would begin shortly after and the coalition troops were far behind enemy lines. An airstrike would be called in on multiple targets and JDAMs were dropped with minimal damage to the wells. The tanks dropped in managed to eliminate hostiles rapidly and the assault continued. After a day of combat the field was under NATO control but was encircled.

US carpet bombing began around the fields to protect troops there and prevent a counter attack. US army forces launched a spearhead with helicopters, VTOLs, and trucks. The first vehicle to reach the field was an M1A2 Abrams with an American and NATO flag hanging off of antenna mounted on the tank. 

Back in the United States CCP special forces wanted to take out the US military's ability to wage a war, and attacked multiple oil reserves at once. Fires began to burn across the county as US National Guard soldiers fought back hostiles while the army was deployed. Soldiers eventually repelled the attack with very few civilian deaths but a large number of the oil reserves were gone. The US had enough to last a while but it would be much less than they would like. As a result of this the US government stopped selling the oil, what private companies and citizens had left was all they would have until the war ended.

Now the US wasn't going to take this lying down and moved a large number of bombers to airbases in Japan and South Korea. The bombers launched and targeted any Chinese fuel storage facilities they could. The result was massive fires raging and a large dent to China's ability to mobilize. 

Similar strikes were carried out against Russia which decided it was done fighting the war in Iran and focused it's army on Europe, hoping to capture any oil. When the assault began NATO forces in Poland engaged enemy fighters but where overwhelmed. Russia eventually got bogged down on the European front as NATO poured into Poland, which immediately turned to guerrila warfare in any locations captured by the Russians. Ukrainian forces did something similar, learning from the war in 2022. Russia resorted to a simple tactic, one that is nearly always used agains fortified enemies in a slow war. Shelling everything. 

The shelling and bombing got even worse as Russia carried out beach landings, which also got bogged down. The result was war across Europe as Russian forces indiscriminately bombed anything that could help NATO win the war. That included oil reserves. Russia ran out of oil shortly after and Europe followed. Iran had been carpet bombed to shit and it's attempts to invade more countries that had oil only resulted in the oil being lost to everyone. China and the US were some of the last major countries with oil after CCP naval vessels shelled Australian and Japanese oil reserves. In short the last oil on Earth was burning, in the oceans, spilled across ground, or being put into bombers to take out the enemy's oil storage so they could win the resource war.

The war ended one year after it started when the last drop of oil was gone, used on dropping a bomb into a South Korean city. The nations of the world looked around and realized what had happened and a frantic search for oil began. The issue was the ships still relied on oil, the only ones not being large naval vessels with nuclear reactors owned by very few nations. It was at this moment New Orderia opened it's borders for exporting.

What is the New Orderian economy based around? Electric vehicles. Environmental regulations imposed in 2030 by the New Orderian Resource Distribution Ministry with a large part played by the NO Park Rangers banned all non electric forms of vehicles. New Orderian energy quickly became all windmills and nuclear reactors. Billions were put forwards every few months to make the entire nation green. New Orderian did this because in 2028 global warming caused ice to melt, taking a large section of highway with it. Large sections of New Orderia aren't built into the ground, but into thick ice. When the ice melted in those areas it was equal to a massive earthquake. New Orderia hoped to slow global warming and prevent melting of this ice by banning anything that produced greenhouse gasses. 

Due to that change twenty years prior to the rest of the world New Orderia had a large, and very affordable, electric car industry. This industry also spanned to aircraft and sea vessels. Ever wonder where all of New Orderia's funds for it's military, experiments, and other government agencies comes from? It is the post oil automotive industry. This head start catapulted New Orderian vehicles to the top of the global market, where they would remain for one and a half century. Due to a sneaky thing called front organizations all of this money went to the government. New Orderia has two main vehicle manufacturing companies. 

CMC and Havoc, CMC making cars, vans, small box trucks. Havoc makes things like large trucks, firefighting vehicles, heavy machinery, planes, and military equipment. That military equipment also includes guns, bombs, and ammo. CMC and Havoc have nearly exclusive rights to making vehicles for the government. The only notable exception being the AFD owning an ex military vehicle from the US when they lost the old truck helping US firefighters in California during an especially bad fire season. They didn't even buy it, the truck was a gift for helping out. Both CMC and Havoc are controlled by the New Orderian government, it becomes obvious when you see their vehicles up close. 

Most CMC vehicles can be adapted for police use with minimal changes. Havoc vehicles are even more blatant, they literally are sold to the army and when a design is outdated they give it to civilians with a few changes. Civilian semi trucks in 2200 are the same model as ONI transport trucks from 2180. The trucks were replaced in 2198 by a new model designed with better protection for the crew from ambushes. Havoc LAVs are sold to civilians as "the off road truck of the decade" when it is really the oldest military vehicle that doesn't use oil, the name is changed to "Light Off Roader" instead of "Light Assault Vehicle". It has some changes though, the turret hatch was removed and it doesn't have bulletproof windows. I know, huge difference.
