RWBY Returns Home

Location: CEM Checkpoint, GATE D, Earth

The board today includes the following information:

-Anyone from the nation of China is still to be denied without a grant signed by the leader.

-Insurgent forces might be planning an attack on the checkpoint, be at the ready to respond with force. Wear full ballistic gear at all times. 

CEM officer Lent waited for the next car to pull up at his booth. When it arrived he saw 7 teenagers. These teenagers being teams RWBY and JN(P)R. They were slightly confused why the officer now wore a reflective faceplate attached to his helmet and full body armor.

Lent: License, registration, proof of insurance.

Blake: Here it is.

Yang: What is with the armor?

Lent: Command is worried about our safety, we are wearing this for now. What is your purpose for going across?

Blake: We are returning home.

Lent: I need the IDs of everyone else in the vehicle. It also says here you all own weapons, please provide the documents for them and exit the vehicle.

Blake collected everyone's IDs before getting out of the car with the documents for their weapons.

Lent and Jasper exited the building and walked over. Jasper and his K9 began to search the car for anything suspicious. The dog sat down in the back and Jasper opened the trunk to find everyone's weapons.

Jasper: They have documents for these right?

Lent: Working on it. Where on Remnant are you fro-

Lent was cut off by gunfire. The officers pulled their pistols and got to cover while radioing for backup.

Lent: Fuck this. Hey! Grab your weapons, you are all hunters and huntresses right?

Ruby: Yeah. What do you want us to do?

Lent: Don't let those guys get past. Jasper! Get the weapons over here!

Jasper grabbed the weapons and to the rest of the group.

Jasper: Here, don't get killed.

Melgan: Here are your rifles guys, how many insurgents?

Melgan handed the officers assault rifles as the gunfire continued to erupt from all sides.

Lent: No clue. Here is the plan, the B's(referring to their IDs, they are Class B-1)can do their thing, we don't have magic bullshit so we will just get in their way. Us 3 will do what they thought us in the academy. Listen kids, I doubt you like killing but that is what needs to be done. Kill or be killed. Do you understand?

The teens nodded and Lent signaled to go. The officers pushed up slowly while laying down suppressive fire, meanwhile the hunters were jumping over the cars and taking pot shots at insurgents. Jasper was ambushed by an insurgent from behind a car and he was about to be stabbed when his K9 ran over and hit the attacker's neck. The dog ripped a hole in the insurgent before Jasper pulled his pistol and fired a few shots to end the fight. Melgan helped up Jasper while Lent unloaded on an insurgent who was trying to get close with a grenade.

Team RWBY meanwhile was being shot at and they realized that the jump around plan was failing. Weiss came up with an idea and summoned a knight to act as a shield. The four followed firing dust at whoever got close. They realized really quickly the brutality of warfare when Ruby shot an insurgent with fire dust. The insurgent's stomach burst into flames and he screamed for help as he died from the fire burning in his body. A few random officers ran up behind them and asked what the fuck they were doing.

Officer: What are you kids doing with weapons? And why are you doing so well with them?

Yang: Don't worry, we are huntresses.

Officer: Fucking what?

Officer 2: Remnant super heroes basically. You'll figure it out eventually, they are good though if they got certified. Hunters get a bypass of the weapon ban through the GATE. 

The officers helped the team and only split off when they found some trapped civilians to escort them back to the checkpoint. The military forces arrived and they were pissed about the GATE being attacked again. The soldiers just walked forward unloading rounds at any insurgent they saw. The insurgents ducked behind a CEM patrol car leading to the soldiers rolling a grenade under it. The fireball launched the car into the air and when it crashed down again it crushed an insurgent who survived the initial blast.

The soldiers eventually killed the remaining insurgents and team RWBY was waved through the checkpoint after NOID officials finished their questioning. The team got in their car slowly drove down the road filled with soldiers and officers as helicopters circled. 

Soldier: Papers please.

The soldier was handed a signed document from the GATE overseer clearing them to go through. The car rolled through the portal and they emerged in another reality. Their vehicle was immediately decontaminated(GATEs are black holes which emit radiation) by soldiers and they saw a statue of firefighters, cops, and soldiers carrying equipment, the statue faced towards the GATE and the plaque read "Dedicated to the men who gave their lives for the good of Remnant during the 3-32-2198-D(refers to disconnect, the entire time Remnant was disconnected from earth is written with a -D on reports) radiation leak. They did their duty and R-1 and R-2 owes their lives to these men." R-1 refers to Earth, R-2 Remnant, the only realities given a -# are important to NO high command, there are only 3 currently labeled like this.

They drove forward and were stopped at another checkpoint  where they presented their papers before being allowed through. They had agreed on going to Patch then Vale but first they would need to drive through NO territory. It was getting late and they trusted Yang with driving, this was a mistake.

Everyone in the car was awoken by a siren and emergency lights. Behind them was a Lamcosa Police car trying to pull them over. They pulled onto the shoulder and stopped. They waited while the officers ran their plate before exiting the car. The officers walked up and one touched the trunk of the car while walking up to the windows.

Officer: I am officer McReary, LPD, do you know why I pulled you over today?

Yang: I was speeding?

McReary: You were swerving in and out of lanes, speeding, ran a stop sign, and drove a mile with me following trying to pull you over. Take your keys out of the ignition and give them to me. I will also need your license, registration, and proof of insurance.

Yang: Here.

Yang gave the officer the papers and Weiss climbed forward from the back.

Weiss: Officer McReary, I would like to inform you there are firearms in the vehicle.

McReary: I will also like to see the documents for those. Where are the firearms located?

Weiss: Trunk and here you go.

Weiss handed over the papers for their weapons while McReary's partner went and opened the trunk to check the weapons. McReary meanwhile ran all the information in the patrol car. When McReary exited he talked to his partner before the trunk was closed and the two walked over to the window again.

McReary: Alright. The shit you pulled isn't okay but it is past midnight and I really don't want to do the paperwork to arrest you all. So here is what is going to happen, I am going to give you these citations for failure to yield, speeding, and running that stop sign. Sign here, this is not an admission of guilt, it just means that you did actually receive the ticket.

Yang signed the citation and was handed a copy. McReary put away his copy and kept explaining what was going to happen.

McReary: You can dispute that in court or you can send payment to that address or through that website. When I turn off my lights you are going allowed to pull off and it is my recommendation that you go to a motel. If somebody else pulls you over for this you will go to jail, and you will ALL be there. Goodnight and I trust you will make the right choice.

Yang: Goodnight officer.

McReary and his partner entered the patrol car and the lights turned off. Yang took the adivce and the two teams went to a motel for the night. They slept as a storm brewed outside.
