Location: West of Rank City, with a PLA Jiaolong Assault Team
Legally the PLA wasn't present in New Orderia, but with the recent explosion of conflict they had managed to get a small special forces team in without NO or NATO units spotting them. Jiaolong Assault Teams are considered incredibly good, as far back as the 2000s they were considered the Chinese version of US Navy SEALs. Due to the past 100 years of tension they have evolved even more, becoming experts in infiltration and sabotage in addition to their prior tactical duties.
Their current mission: figure out what the Red Morning insurgent group wants in Rank City. Chinese high command supports the rebels, supplying them with weapons, vehicles, and equipment in discreet ways, but something wasn't adding up for the PLA. Rank City holds minimal tactical advantage in this war, it has no large scale energy facilities, it is heavily guarded, and it has no arms production. At most there is munitions inside of the NO bases nearby, but those would be destroyed by NO forces before the insurgents could reach them.
To put bluntly, things don't add up. "Why there?" is the main question being asked in Beijing, and this Jiaolong Assault Team is going to figure that out.
A/N: For obvious reasons, any dialogue between Chinese personnel is in Chinese. Odds are you know this, but I just want to clarify anyways.
Radio: Leopard 1, report.
Commander: Leopard 1, we have managed to locate the RM forward team, contact has not been made yet. They appear to follow a hunter-killer setup with an RPG team taking the focus.
Radio: Affirmative, that's out of the ordinary for them. Normally RM forward units prefer long range and IED based loadouts, the setup you are reporting is more commonly used in attacks on positions. Advise if you can see any bases, production facilities, or HVTs in the area.
The commander looked to his side at the other PLA operatives, all laying in the trees while overlooking the insurgent team. He then lifted his binoculars to his face and looked around, the insurgents were heading out of the woods so it was easy to see no large structures ahead. He was about to report in when an operator to his side tapped his shoulder and pointed at a smaller building, a tiny one that can barely even be called that. It was more of a shed, or more accurately: an entrance. The commander looked and saw it before picking up the radio.
Commander: Their target is likely a small structure, potentially an entrance to an underground facility. Coordinates being transmitted now, advise on what that is.
There was a pause, a full minute went by without any update.
Radio: Eliminate the RM insurgents. Structure identified, it is a New Orderian ICBM launch control facility. Do not get spotted by the NO security forces, but if you are spotted you are forbidden to engage. Destroy identifiers, capture is not permitted.
Commander: Confirmed.
The team of operators ripped any Chinese markings off of their gear, threw them into a hole, and set them on fire. The flames were hidden by the terrain and never got large enough to alert anyone. With the identifiers destroyed the operators began neutralizing insurgents.
A 2 man sniper team set up in the trees while the others moved forwards through the grass. It was dark, the insurgents intended to use this to their advantage to avoid NO patrols. Instead the Jiaolong Assault Team operators would use it to prevent the insurgents from starting a nuclear war.
The Chinese had NVGs, something the insurgents and most of the nearby NO units lacked. As long as the insurgents eliminated the insurgents before they could begin the attack the New Orderian Army wouldn't even know there was a problem. Ideally the Chinese government could warn New Orderia, but then they would need to openly admit they had a covert ops team within the country. The only possible option was fighting an entire insurgent attack with 10 men without a single insurgent getting a shot off.
