CHAPTER 149: Final tournament (1)

After two days of rest, Yu manor held the final tournament in the city square. Yu Yue made use of this event to show off her might as the new city lord. They invited the entire city to watch the fun, it didn't take long before the awaited event finally begins.

The city square is packed with people to the brim, clamoring excitedly. They were gasping with different expressions because after they enter they could feel the abundant spiritual qi throughout the city square. Some lucky people even managed to break through and were squealing in delight.

They couldn't help but change their initial thoughts of their new city lord, she even made this place a cultivation ground so their opinions changed. They didn't just come here to watch the fun but also to challenge her.
 
But seeing the appearance of a group of people with extraordinary air wearing different styles of masks. They couldn't help but tremble with fear when they recalled the thrilling scene that happened two days ago in the city streets. 

At first, they were looking down on her for ruining such a luxurious manor, they thought she was really a naïve little girl. The city square was off-limits to the public before and after it was constructed and this is the first time they could get inside. The spirit gathering array was just activated last night so the zhou elders and the other people they caught were also excited and marveling at the site, their expressions change doubtfully at Yu Yue's sight.

After sweeping the entire city free of rodents and cockroaches Yu Yue still can't show her face in public. The majority of the people acknowledge her capabilities and strength by now, the rest were just testing the waters. She didn't want to take the risk so she would act after the tournament instead.

If they can't pledge their loyalty they can only leave the city but they can't ever return. She doesn't want to have pests and flies around again. She's only letting them off just this once because she couldn't find talented and capable people.
Once Yu Yue's identity was announced upon her arrival the entire city square was filled with murmurings. The five great clans were also present; they were personally overlooking the entire process.

Yu Yue stood up at the center of the high-raised platform for important figures, she watched the people calmly with confidence and a pure aura. She looks noble despite her petite young figure. The crowd couldn't help but imagine the face behind that mask.

As she raised her hands the city square quietened. She narrowed her eyes sharply for a few breaths of pauses before speaking with a crisp voice. "today we would be holding the tournament of my capable subordinates to determine their rankings. As some of you might be already aware that I'm using this event to prove my capabilities as the city lord. The five great clans are already aware of my plans and are in full support of the changes that this city is about to undergo. This city square is one of them for example. After we held the ranking tournament please stay still as I have a few more things to announce...." She spoke with a mysterious smile that hook the people and stayed still curiously as the first round commenced.

The first match is Yu Ling vs Feng Chen. The second match would be hong mei vs mo ling. The third match would be Hua Ling vs lady Shan Shou. 

The crowd cheered and started betting once the first match was announced. Patriarch de was also excitedly playing the host. His thundering voice sets the lively atmosphere even livelier.

Yu Ling and Feng Chen went up the stage. With the booming sound of the gong, they both stood in a fighting posture. This match didn't allow weapons and only fists and arms.
