Chapter 26 - attack

While I'm in my car talking to Marcus, we pull over to get gas. I had a change of heart and give him a chance, although we're still not in a relationship officially we're taking things slow. God finally I'm turning 18, my tio is planning my coronation which is funny cause he has no idea what he's doing.

These past few weeks have been going by like crazy, shit it's the most normal I felt in my life. Maria and I talk to each other once in while, not too often you know. The majority of the time we just nod at each other as we're walking the hallways, not really acknowledging each other, I don't know exactly if we're on good terms. Something doesn't feel right.

The rest of them, saya, Billy, willie, lex and Petra have been there normal selfs as usual. Somehow Billy got into lex's head and made him believe zebras aren't real, I swear these two doofuses act like there in kindergarten which I don't really mind. It's funny if you ask me.

We get back into the car and start driving on the road.

"Whatever happened to you carrying out your mission?"

"I didn't complete it-"

Marcus gasps sarcastically and I just roll my eyes.

"Relax, I killed him, he tried to hired people to kill me but I played that uno reversed card on that mother fucker. You must think I'm crazy, well I do too so I guess that makes three."

"I think there's a little bit of you in all of us after all, you are the most feared woman."

"Well thank you, I don't understand how you act so innocent knowing your not. I know what goes up inside that head of yours Marcus, the thirst to kill, the images you get of hurting the people who have wronged you. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, no one is innocent in this world."

"Your right, but unlike you I actually like to work things out."

"What's that supposed to mean? Huh? I don't come from a place that we can just talk it out like civilized humans. People kill for a reason, i don't kill anyone if they are not in my way." I start to get a bit angry and a bit offended.

"Forget what I said, you know I wasn't brought in this world to do this Esmerelda."

"Believe me I know that, it's just I don't know why but I tend to do that a lot, I cross the line sometimes and I'm sorry. I don't understand how you do it Marcus, you keep your calm in the most difficult situations, your not scared but you don't exactly do anything. Tell me, what's a like being somewhat normal?"

"Well I can't really say because I'm not but in way it's kinda reliving the fact that you don't have so many responsibilities, you don't have someone telling you what you can't and cannot do."

"Good to know, can I ask you something else?"

He nods his head and looks at me with his beautiful brown eyes.

"Why exactly didn't you date Maria when we broke up?"

Marcus's flashback....

"Do you honestly ever shut up about Esmerelda? It's always "oh how's Esmerelda?" or "I can't Get her out of my head, what should I do?" Maria begins to mock Marcus.

"Im so worried about Esmerelda" and she's always five fucking feet away from you Marcus! It's pathetic, take a hint you broke her heart and she doesn't want you anymore!"

"That's not my fault, you threw yourself at me while I was drunk! Your the reason why I'm acting like this, if it wasn't for you then I wouldn't be like this."

"You guys we're toxic anyways, constantly fighting all the time. You were never right for each other, you know for a fact you were gonna screw it up with her anyways. I did you a favor and now you can go to hell!"
