"The only man I was afraid was a woman named Esmerelda santos."

Holding funerals was very normal in my family, strangely enough there was always someone dying almost every other week. This one was going to hit me harder than any other in a long time. Three days after the incident, we went back to the states. I left it up to Chelsea whether or not she wanted to have a funeral for her family and she agreed to it. We did something small per her request, she may be extremely young but she's old enough to start realizing these things. Although she wanted nothing to do with her father, I was afraid she was going to end up like me, full of hatred and anger later on when she got older. Once the funeral was done, Marcus, Mateo, Chelsea and I took her out for ice cream.

It was never going to make her feel better about her parents but she needed some cheering up. Mateo tried his best to make her laugh and on some levels he succeeded. "How do you feel about graduating?" Marcus nudged my arm. "Mhm, I hate it as much as I love it. Homeschool sucks and that was the only way I could socialize and get into brawls. I just can't believe we're all moving on with our lives. Just one thing is you're not going back to the streets Marcus." I made eye contact with him.

"I wouldn't mind it though and I made enough money from the comic store to get my own apartment." He shrugged his shoulders and I shook my head, "no, no, no. Lex and billy are coming back with you to my place, i didn't ever think you knuckle heads could ever be there for me and here we are." I laughed. "You don't have to do that you know." Marcus reassured me. "But I want to, just let me do this one thing for you guys." Marcus knows how persistent I can get. "Fine." He finally gave in and I smiled, "yay. Those two are getting getting along well." This was the first time in three days that Chelsea had even smiled. "You're brother is quite the charmer." Marcus says.

"Yeah, he's sweet alright until he won't stop bothering you until you buy him more video games. I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid when he inherits his trust fund." We made it back into my car and drove back to my house. "I'll be back later, I have a meetings to attend with my uncle. So I will see you later." I gave him a quick kiss and popped on my heels and basically ran down the stairs. Oh how amazing it feels to back on my feet and telling people what to do."

4 hours later....

"Esos pendejos no saben con quien se están metendo! Los voy a rastrear de sus putas bollas!" I came in cursing through the front door angrily while kicking off my heels and picking them up. "Ellos se ban a repetir de faltar al respeto a un mujer!" I walked fast up the stairs and made my way past Marcus. "That doesn't sound very.... positive. What happened with her?" Marcus looked down and saw how angrily Christopher stormed away to his office. "Late night, am I right? Um, you know by now that she gets angry in Spanish so if I were I'd wait until she cools down before she aims a gun to your head. We had an interesting childhood when we got angry, I'd take my advice if I were you." Jayden nervously chuckled then walked away.

I went into my office and slammed the door and started making very angry phone calls to my business partners because they think I will back down to man that has a the same kinda money I have. Two can play at that game bitch. After 15 minutes of yelling and cursing, I groaned into my arms, I heard a knock on my door and I opened it up to see Marcus. "What I can help you with Marcus? I'm sorta busy right now, hold on a sec- Listen Alejandro, I know you like your bills where you can see them. When have I ever not delivered my word? Que dios te bien diga." I slammed the phone back onto my desk and began to write in my planner.

"Sorry, what was it you were saying?" I signed a few paper work. "Put the pen down." He said loud and clear. I kept writing, I had to get my work done. He snatches it out of my hand and I folded my hands together, "now if you can, tell me what you're so stressed about." I sighed. "Misogynistic assholes who think they can buy me out because I'm a woman who needs to have a family and apparently dont know what I'm doing. they've seen how much money I've made in the past few months, even the next 3 generations of my family are set for life with the kind of money I draw in. My business partners think that I should back down to a man because he's old fashioned and does things correctly." Marcus furrowed his eyebrows. "surely enough you can't be the only female running a drug traffic around here."
