Jungkook POV

"Honeybee! You shouldn't have!" I gush holding up the brand new hoodie Danbi has purchased.

"Do you really like it?" She asks as she nibbles her bottom lip.

Leaning over to give her a few pecks, I reply "I love it, and I love you. Thank you sweetheart."

Danbi's smile is shaky. "I'm glad and I love you too, Kookie. More than everything."

"I know this is a surprise, but I wish you'd told me you were going to the mall today. There were a few things I've been needing but I haven't made it out to shop yet."

"Oh, really? I can go again tomorrow if you need me to. I don't mind."

"You don't have to go again so soon. It is just more cologne and new socks, nothing dire." Laying my new hoodie over the kitchen chair at my opposite side, I lift my fork to gather more food.

"I was going to buy you more cologne, but Jimin-" She stops and folds her lips into her mouth.

I raise my brows questioningly. "Jimin? Who's that?"

"Nobody. Never mind what I said." Danbi brushes me off. She takes another bite of her dinner most likely to busy herself. "How about you and I go back to the mall this weekend and have a nice dinner afterwards? We haven't done that in a while."

"Danbi?"

She answers with her mouth full. "Hm?"

I speak slowly and softly. "Who is Jimin?"

She swallows the half chewed food in her mouth. "A delusional man who thinks he is my partner."

Listening to Danbi so casually neglect her partner doesn't sit well with me. "I take it you refused to connect with him again?"

"He's not my partner so I don't have to connect with him, Kookie. How is your dinner?"

"The fates chose the two of you for a reason, honey. He is your partner no matter how much you deny the fact. I imagine it has been tortuous for him having to wait for you to come around."

Danbi's fork clatters onto her plate. "He's not my partner and there's nothing you can say to change my mind!"

"He can't hurt you if that's what you're so worried about. It is impossible for him to hurt you in any kind of way."

"You haven't seen the way he looks at me! I feel like nothing more than a piece of meat he wants to tear to shreds with his sharp pointy teeth and long clawed nails. I don't know why all of those women couldn't keep their eyes off of him."

Her words give me pause. "What women?"

"There were a lot of women in the department store today, and the longer I searched for your hoodie, the more that showed up. By the time I left Jimin at the register, the store was packed with women ogling him and saying lewd things he probably enjoyed."

"What was his reaction to all of the attention?"

She sniffs and rubs the tip of her nose. "He kept asking to take me somewhere to 'talk'. I know he just wanted to get into my pants, so I told him to pick another woman and leave me alone."

Crossing my arms over my chest, I frown at my fiancé. "Why would you do that? You belong to him!"

"Stop saying that!" Danbi aggressively shoves her plate away as she stands and stomps towards the bedroom. The door slamming is the last I hear from her all afternoon.
