Despite it being so quiet, Da-eun didn't notice the steps approaching her. She didn't notice that someone was creeping up on her, slowly but steadily coming closer.
At least not until it was already too late.

It was a rather gentle meow. Arguably even polite, as though the cat didn't intend to nor want to scare the girl yet was aware that it did, in fact, scare her.
Da-eun barely had enough time to react. Although her heart skipped a beat and she flinched a little at the sudden warmth against her calf, she quickly found herself in awe at how pretty and cute that cat was.
Its body was white yet the further down its legs you looked, the darker its fur got. The dark brown slowly mixed in with it until it replaced all of the white fur so that the cat's paws were a completely different shade than its torso. It was the same for its tail, ears, and nose.
To the girl's surprise, Daegal didn't seem to mind the cat. While they exchanged glances, both pets decided to mind their own business with Daegal continuing to investigate a random scent she had picked up on, whereas the cat was busy trying to get Da-eun's attention.
To no one's surprise, it succeeded.
Given that Daegal was busy anyway, Da-eun crouched down to pet the cat that was surprisingly trusting.
The girl hummed to herself. "How come you look so familiar?"
She had never had a cat.
She didn't know anyone that had a cat.
No cats.
But this one looked...
"Louis?" she asked carefully but the cat didn't react at all - not that she had expected it to.
She soon averted her attention from it to her phone. She scrolled past the last couple of messages she and Mark had exchanged to get to the newest one - only to be disappointed to see that this message was a meme.
