welcome to yet another long chapter cause I can't help myself

24

Deep.

Loud.

A growl echoed through its cave, causing the walls to vibrate, everything daring to fall down.

Due to how threatening it sounded, there was really only one appropriate reaction to it. Only one thing that could be said.

And that was,

"What the fuck?" Hayoon frowned, eyes jumping down to Da-eun's stomach. "Was that you?"

The younger nodded shyly in embarrassment, a hand on her stomach as the two walked into the cafeteria.

"Da-eun..." Hayoon said, slightly judgemental at how absurdly loud that growl was.

All the while, the younger tried to ignore her and just focused on something else.

Like the fact that she caught sight of a familiar face.

"Oh, Hana's over there," Da-eun said as she nodded towards the girl that was sitting next to a friend. "Let's join her."

Hayoon nodded and followed Da-eun, both of them quickly ending up being spotted by Hana. She smiled brightly at them and motioned them to come over and sit down next to her.

"Hey!" Hana greeted them once they were close enough, her warm eyes lighting up at the sight of the two girls. Meanwhile, the girl sitting next to her was smiling at them shily, almost weary of the two as they sat down. "Are you guys eating with us?"

"If it's okay with you?" Da-eun asked, mainly to be polite, not because she expected Hana to do anything but agree.

"Of course!" she said happily. Once the two had gotten comfortable, Hana turned to the girl next to her. "That's Eun-kyung. We have a course together. She's a bit shy but she is really nice."

Since Eun-kyung was sitting, Da-eun could only see so much of her. Yet judging by the pastel purple button-up cardigan, the delicate yet rather cute butterfly necklace, and natural yet slightly blush heavy make-up, Da-eun determined that, if soft girl aesthetic was a person, it could have very well been Eun-kyung.

She looked cute though, her shyness naturally blending in with her overall vibe. And her small smile just added to the feeling.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Da-eun," she introduced herself, earning a wordless nod from the other one.

"I'm Hayoon," the older of the two then said. She was about to add to that when her phone vibrated and she excused herself to answer the call. "What?" She turned around, eyes on the entrance to the cafeteria. "Just make use of those pretty eyes of yours, Squidward."

Impressed, Da-eun nodded as she said, "A compliment? Wow."

"Can you- do you need new glasses?" she asked harshly. "Or are you just dumb?"

Da-eun sighed. "Nevermind." She watched as Hayoon stretched her arm high up in the air, then finally followed her gaze over to Juwon who eventually managed to spot them in the crowd.

Hayoon hung up and turned back around while Da-eun kept looking at Juwon who gave her a warm smile and a quick hug once he reached her.

"How are you?"

"Good, good. You?"

Juwon nodded. "Alright. Just came from tutoring. I'm a bit tired."

Da-eun sighed. "Must be hard being so smart."
