(seen)

As he stared at the little (seen) in the corner of the screen, he couldn't stop himself from gently pulling the corners of his lips back, a little thrown off by the sudden inquiry. He had noticed that the girl was a little weird, yet this... this was unusual even for her.

"Hm?" he hummed to himself before he muttered a quiet, "Why? What did she want?" He watched the screen, yet there was nothing - she wasn't typing. The screen rested motionlessly as he waited.

He checked whether his wifi was working, then his eyes yet again got locked on (seen).

"Is something going on?" he muttered again as if he was going to get an answer. He was on the brink of getting worried.

Until a notification popped up.

Incoming video call from Dog Thief

The phone vibrated as it sang its usual song, all the while Chenle's eyes were glued to the name on the screen. He was surprised, to say the least. Even inclined to shrug this off as an accident.

So he dragged his thumb over to the decline button at first.

But then he waited a second. And one more after that.

Since she was still calling, he guessed it probably was on purpose. It felt a little strange to accept a video call from a person he had never heard the voice or even seen the face of.

Nonetheless, he answered it eventually.

However, to his surprise all he saw after that were a pair of legs, and feet covered in white socks against the brown wooden floor.

A brow raised, Chenle asked, "Are you... is everything okay?"

"Wait wait!" she whispered loudly into the phone. She took a step towards the wall. It looked like she was hiding behind it. "Look!"

And then she used the phone to peek around the corner and into the living room where Daegal was playing with her favourite toy. She was throwing it in the air, then ran after it, tried to catch it mid-air and-

she failed.

But she didn't give up.

She threw it again, made another attempt to catch it.

There was a soft chuckle in the back. "Look how cute she is!"

He had put so much thought into whether or not the call was accidental or what it could be about just for it to end up being about... this? So he could see his own dog do things that she was always doing?

It seemed kind of silly to him. Kind of pointless.

That's what he thought at least, while failing to notice the faint smile that drew over his lips. Effortlessly curving up, he didn't realize it - or he pretended not to.
