Chenle's eyes kept flickering down to the GPS. He tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, quite off-beat and a little irregularly. His bottom lip was trapped loosely between his teeth as he gently nibbled on it. Da-eun observed him carefully before pointing out that,

"You don't have to be nervous. I'll be fine."

"I know you will," Chenle pushed out quickly causing the girl to laugh.

"Do you, hm?" she wondered, eyes on his hands that were still drumming to the sound of the radio. She decided against teasing him as she didn't want to distract him too much while he was driving.

His concern for her was cute. She didn't want him to be anxious but she appreciated how invested he got in her affairs. When she saw the tall office building up ahead, she decided to spend the last moments in the car taking in her favourite sight.

Chenle.

She smiled subconsciously. "You're cute," she commented and he nodded.

"So I've been told."

"By?" she asked as if she didn't already know.

"My biggest fan," he replied swiftly. He grinned. "She's so supportive, she's always by my side when I need her. And, most importantly, she keeps complimenting me."

Da-eun hummed. "Sounds like a stalker," she joked but Chenle just shrugged.

"I enjoy her company nonetheless," he said, too anxious to play along with her jokes. All he could do right now was to be straightforward as he didn't have the brain power to do much else. "We're here."

The car slowly came to a halt as Chenle found a parking spot conveniently close to the entrance of the building. He took his hands off the steering wheel and wiped them off on his pants before he turned to face the girl.

He smiled. "You got this."

Da-eun laughed. "You sound so nervous."

"This is your first casting!" he argued loudly, upset that she would laugh at him for that. In his eyes, it was a big deal. He huffed. "I can't believe you are so calm about it. Maybe that's why I am so anxious."

"Maybe I am so calm because you are so worried," she reasoned. She tilted her head to the side and let her eyes run down the boy's face and figure. "I practised, so I should be fine."

Chenle nodded right away. "You'll be fine."

"Right?" she said with a smile. "So you just go back home and I'll see you later."

"I'll wait for you-"

"No need. I don't know how long it will take."

Chenle frowned slightly as he pointed out, "I'd wait all day for you if I have to."

"But you-" He stopped her when he placed his hand on the side of her neck, thumb on her cheek. He smiled as he leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss. He pulled away soon, yet stayed close to her, his breath on her lips, hers on his.

"I will wait," he said, determined. "So focus on yourself and show them what you got."

Mesmerized by his eyes, comforted by his words, she couldn't do much but nod. She took a deep breath, her expression daring to turn a little sad when his hand glided off her neck. But she didn't have too much time to spare, so she agreed. She took her things and got out of the car. She was about to walk away when she stopped and knocked on the car's window.
