Mark Lee was glowing.

She had known him for almost two years and they had grown fairly close. And yet, whenever Da-eun saw him she thought that he looked different from everyone else.

Brighter. More colourful.

Like he was wearing a filter in real life.

Quite frankly, she thought that,

"This is kind of unfair."

Mark's head snapped up as he heard her voice. Surprised, then confused, he looked at her.

"What is?" he wondered.

She sighed before leaning down to give him a hug. "You are one good-looking boy, Mark."

He laughed at her remark but quickly replied, "You are just as good-looking, Da-eun."

Pulling away and sliding onto the seat opposite him, she attempted to act all shy and humble as she covered her face with her hand and whispered loud enough for him to hear,

"Getting complimented by Mark Lee. A dream come true."

Only moments after she sat down, a waitress came over. She placed two drinks on the table before asking if they needed anything else and then leaving again.

Surprised, Da-eun looked at the cup of coffee in front of her.
"You ordered already?" He nodded. "Have you been waiting long?"

"No, not at all. I just got here too but I thought I could already order since I was here first." He motioned towards the cup in front of her. "It's a cappuccino, that's what you usually order, right?"

"Yep," she said with a smile, appreciating that he remembered this detail. "Although I would be fine with anything as long as it's not just black coffee."

"Noted."

"Woah. The Mark Lee remembering my coffee preferences?" she said, voice cracking from how touched she felt.

But the boy only laughed, equally amused and flustered by her remarks.
"Dude stop with the 'the Mark Lee' it's not a big deal."

"It's not a big deal to you cause you are the Mark Lee," she noted but quickly agreed to his request to stop. Although he was well aware that she was joking, he enjoyed it more when she was treating him as just a friend.

"Ah, right. I talked to Chenle and he said that I should ask you whether you want to keep Daegal duties or if you would like me to take over now since I am back."

Interested to hear that they talked about her, Da-eun put her elbows on the table and rested her head on the heel of her hand ere she leaned a bit closer.

"Does he want you to take over Daegal duties?"

Mark pushed his bottom lip up as he thought about it. "No?" he wondered. "He said he is fine with you doing it and also said that you would probably even be happy about getting to do it longer. He just didn't want you to feel pressured in case you are stressed, so he told me to ask."

Da-eun sat still after hearing that. She wasn't smiling, nor frowning, nor doing anything in between. She just stared ahead wordlessly, mind lost in her evergrowing adoration for a boy she had never even met before.

And Mark, watching her closely, shook his head.

"You told me not to tell him that you like him so much. To be honest though he will figure it out himself." Mark grinned at a now unhappy-looking Da-eun. "Because you can't keep it to yourself."
