Hayoon hummed, eyes on the TV screen. "You said you are going to go public, right? With your relationship, I mean."

"Yeah," Da-eun confirmed absent-mindedly, focusing on the TV as well.

"When? Are you waiting for something?"

"Kinda," she said. "I wanna wait until I hear back from the casting."

Understanding what she was worried about, Hayoon swiftly nodded. "Makes sense."

"We should go on a double date once you made it public!" Min-jung suggested excitedly. Even though it might not have sounded like it, this suggestion was nothing less than a decision. A decision made by Min-jung for all parties involved.

Da-eun laughed. "Sure, that sounds like fun." She turned her head to look at her cousin. "Your wedding is just a few days away now. How are you feeling?"

"Excited!" she exclaimed without hesitation. "Like... I don't think there is something I have ever been more sure of than marrying Mark."

Instantly, a spark settled in her eyes, the corners of her lips pulled up by the purest feeling of love. She sighed happily as she thought out loud,

"He is the person that understands me the most. He knows my flaws and he loves me despite them. In a way he... completes me. He is always by my side and always has been." She smiled to herself. "And now he will be by my side forever."

Hayoon looked at the older one, contemplating what to say. She hummed to herself before offering her a somewhat fake yet sympathetic,

"How cute."

Min-jung had to laugh at her reaction. "You aren't the romantic type, right?"

Hayoon shrugged. "I just enjoy my own company." She went quiet for a moment as she let the older one's words echo through her mind again. "I think it's cute that you found someone to complete you and love your flaws but it's not what I am looking for - or what I need in the first place."

Min-jung laughed at her comment. Not because she thought that what she said was funny but because she held a lot of admiration for Hayoon who was so unapologetically herself, who needed and wanted no one but herself by her side.

"But that's just me, that's okay," Hayoon said further. "I know it's different for you two. I mean, look at Eunnie. Ever since you started talking she's been smiling to herself like an idiot because she's probably busy thinking about Chenle."

Suddenly dragged back down to reality, Da-eun's attention shifted from her daydreams to Hayoon. She raised her brows, genuinely wondering,

"What did you say? Sorry, I wasn't listening."

The two older ones laughed. Hayoon shook her head. "All good."

"Oh."

While Da-eun would have liked to ask again about what she had missed, her attention was stolen by the ringing of her phone. She reached over to grab it and picked up.

"Hey In-hyuk," she said enthusiastically.

"Hey Da-eun," he greeted her back. "Are you busy right now?"

She looked at her two friends, stretching a hum as she thought about what to say. "Not exactly," she said, "I'm with Hayoon and Min-jung though."

"I see." She could hear him move around in the back, his steps echoing through the hallway as he approached his room. "Do you mind stopping by my office? I need to talk to you," he began and quickly added, "as your temporary manager, that is."
