A scream pierced through the phone. "I got the tickets!"
In response, I almost dropped my mobile phone out of my hands. I did a combination of slapstick and Kung fu like movements, trying to keep the it from crashing onto the floor. As soon as the phone was safe in my hands, I held it up to my ear.
"Say that again?" My voice was high pitched, close to breaking.
Ever since I heard about BTS' world tour, I'd been devastated because I'd been unable to get tickets as they sold out within an hour. But now...? Did my friend actually say the magical words I'd been wishing for?
"I. Got. The. Tickets!" my friend said slowly. "We're going to see BTS in concert!"
"No!" I replied.
"Yes!"
"NO!"
"YES!"
I started crying. "You're not playing a joke with me, are you?"
A gasp sounded on the other end of the phone. "With BTS I never joke!"
"But how? It sold out so quickly!"
"Partially luck, partially determination," my friend said simply. "I connected with this guy online who turned out to be working at Wembley Stadium in London. Apparently, he's so eager to see me that he offered me two tickets for the BTS concert if I could make the trip to London to see him."
"London?" I repeated, as I opened up a new window on my computer screen. "As in London, United Kingdom? When is their concert? Wait, I'm looking it up, right now."
"It's tomorrow," my friend replied.
"What? How can we be in London tomorrow? We have to book flights, accommodation—"
"Hold up, I already took care of that! Everything is settled. The only thing you need to do is get your ass to the airport. The flight's leaving at 5 PM, and final check-in's an hour before that."
I glanced at the clock on the wall. That gave me roughly an hour to pack my bag and then jump in my car to make drive to the airport. Hopefully, traffic would go smoothly.
"Are you still there? Or did you faint?"
"No, no, I'm here!" I quickly turned back to my friend. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe we're going to see BTS!"
"Well, first we have a flight to catch! So, get your butt moving, lady!" my friend ushered. "I'll meet you at the check-in. No later than 4. And don't forget your passport!"
She hung up, leaving me flabbergasted.
My dream was coming true. I would actually get to see the guys who'd made such a difference in my life for these past few months. Even though I'd only known them for a short while, I couldn't imagine my life any differently.
Then reality kicked in. Less than an hour to pack! I jumped up from the couch, simultaneously scaring away Mitzy, my oldest cat, and made my way to my bedroom. I took a small suitcase out of the closet, and started filling it with clothes. I had no clue as to how long I would be going to London as my friend had arranged everything, but I assumed it would be about 2 or 3 days.
"And if it's longer, I'll just buy some extra clothing in London," I muttered as I held up two outfits to decide which one I was going to wear to the concert.
Out of nowhere, doubt entered my head. She got the tickets from a guy who claimed he worked at Wembley. A guy she met online. A guy who wanted to meet her. Who was to say that he was telling the truth? What if they'd make the flight, go all the way to London and then find out he had said that just so she would come to him? Or what if he was just catfishing her and he wouldn't show up at all?
My heart sunk.
I picked up the phone, ready to call my friend again, but after pressing her name and clicking on 'video chat', my finger hoovered above the call button.
"Or I could just believe in the goodness of people and indulge in this awesome and happy feeling of being able to get to their concert. And let the truth come out at the latest possible moment. Like, when I am in London."
I had almost convinced myself... and then pressed the call button.
My friend picked up during the first ring. "You're packed yet?"
"How do you know that guy's telling the truth?" I barged in. "I mean, what if we make it all the way there, and he's just catfishing you and there are no tickets? I don't think my heart could handle that!"
"I already have the tickets here, in my hand!" She held up her hand to show two rectangular tickets with the three letters BTS written in the middle. "Just like you, I didn't believe him until I had these in my hand, and so he sent them to me overnight to prove he was telling the truth. And that's when I booked the flight, arranged the accommodation and then called you! Because I didn't want to make you all happy and then disappoint you if for some reason it wouldn't work out!"
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
My friend laughed. "I know!" She then tilted her head and glared at me through the screen. "Now, keep packing and get your butt over here!"
"Okay, okay!" I laughed and hung up.
I managed to pack my suitcase in just ten minutes. Record time. But there were other things I needed to take care off before I could jump in my car and head on over to the airport.
I glanced at my grey cat, Jax, who lay in the sun washing himself. Then I looked at my laptop. "Someone to take care of my cats, and settle free time with my job."
Placing the suitcase next to my desk, I quickly typed an email to my projects manager, explaining I wasn't able to work for the next week. "I'll let you know when I'm back from my trip and will make sure I'll work over time to get the projects done," I ended the email, and signed it with my name.
After sending it, I grabbed my phone and dialed the my sister's number. "Hey! Can I call you back? I'm in the middle—"
"If you don't mind, no," I interrupted her. "I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry. I have to catch a flight at 5—"
"Wait, what?"
"I'm going to London for a few days and I wanted to ask you if you could take care of my cats for a few days."
"Yes, of course," my sister immediately said. "But London? Why are you going to London?"
"BTS concert!" I squealed. "But can I call you later to explain everything? Right now, I need to catch a flight!"
"Sure! But please call me once you're in London. I need to know you're safe."
"I will, and thank you!"

Author's note
Pfew... I felt this so much! The joy of getting tickets to a BTS concert! Will it ever happen? I do hope so! I would love to be able to see the guys live!
As you know, I decided to write this story in the first person perspective so you can identify with the "I" in this story as though it is you going through it! Which means that the character, introduced in this chapter as 'my friend' is actually YOUR friend. I won't be naming her in the next chapters, so imagine whoever you want this to be, to make it more personal!
The things I do for you ;)
Hope you're enjoying the journey so far!
