I was just about ready to fall asleep, when I heard my phone buzz faintly. I didn't even know what time it was or how long it had been since I dozed off.

Feeling a little groggy, I opened my eyes at the second buzz.

Who was in their right mind to text me while I was trying to fall asleep? My mind didn't immediately make the connection as the day had already taken a lot of energy, but then I remembered a certain text that was promised.

Instantly, I sat upright in my bed and leaned over to my nightstand to grab my phone.

Indeed, it was him.

"Hi, just got back from meeting the members." And his second message read, "I hope I didn't wake you with this text?"

I leaned against the headboard, glancing at the time on my phone. Would it seem too hungry if I responded at a quarter to midnight? After all, wouldn't it be more logical for me to be asleep, or at least close to sleeping?

My curiosity took over any of the logical reasons why I shouldn't be texting near midnight. "Hi," I texted back, "it's okay. I was just dozing a bit. Did you have a good talk?"

Within seconds, my phone started ringing and it startled me to the point that I almost dropped it. I looked at the screen, my lips twitching in a huge smile as his name appeared.

"Hey," I answered.

"Hey. I didn't feel like typing. Is this okay?"

"Of course."

Jungkook told me about his conversation with the others and I was happy to hear that they received the news well and didn't put too much pressure on him. Then again, I also remembered how careful they were with me after I had woken up in Jungkook's body. It seemed fitting they were easy on him because of what he'd gone through.

"How did you explain me being here?"

"I told them the truth – or at least, as close as possible to the truth. We both had heart failure. We both ended up in the hospital and that's how we met and connected."

"And they didn't think it's strange that you invited me to come here, and that I actually came?"

"No. I guess they kind of understood my need to connect with someone who went through the same as I have. But I am a bit worried about our management though. Namjoon said he'd call them right after we all left, but I won't know how that call went until tomorrow."

"Can't you just text Namjoon and ask him?"

I heard Jungkook sigh. "If he's going to share anything about that call, he won't tell me through text. That's just not his style. He's more the face to face kind of person."

I pouted my lips. "Go to his room then?"

Jungkook fell silent and for a moment I thought the connection had died, and then I heard him chuckle.

"What?"

"It's just cute," he said. "The way you're trying to offer solutions."

"I'm sorry."

"No, no. It's okay. It's cute."

"Well, I am cute," I said boldly.

"Yes," Jungkook said. "Yes, you are."

It was a good thing that he wasn't actually in the room to see my face heat up. This was what I always did; trying to make a joke, but people seemed to see it as flirty. I didn't mean it as flirty and most times I tried to take it back, ending up wanting to bite my tongue that something like this happened.
