Jungkook had the brightest smile on his face as he turned the corner and walked towards the hotel. He'd had such a blast discovering Oslo and not being recognized or followed by either fans or paparazzi. It was the first time he felt like he could truly be himself and no one would care what he did. He didn't need to worry that anything would come up in rumors on social media or in news items online.
No one knew this woman was actually him. This rush of freedom made him thankful for her in his life. Even though their circumstances were straight out of a fantasy novel, and no one would ever believe him if he told them, right now, all he felt was gratitude. Grateful for the opportunity to experience life as a non-celebrity.
Excited voices and soft cries entered his mind, forcing him out of his thoughts and into the real world. He looked up at the crowd of fans in front of the hotel.
Instantly, his breathing faltered. Would they recognize-?
Of course not.
He wasn't Jungkook. He was just a normal woman. A guest at this hotel. No one would even blink twice by seeing her enter the hotel.
He eyed into the street next to the hotel, seeing fans appear through the open and unguarded gate leading to the back entrance. Why wasn't this better handled? Shouldn't the back door be free of fans, so that any celebrities come and go unnoticed?
Jungkook was sure that if the members had already returned from the radio station, this would've been a big deal for them. Or rather, for the staff members and body guards, who each played their role in making sure the band was safe at all times. Having someone check this gate and guard it properly was part of that, too.
"Well, well, well, look who we have here."
The shrill voice made Jungkook turn to see who they were talking to. Of course it couldn't be him. He was just a woman, a guest at this hotel, who knew no one here.
But the moment he locked eyes with her, he recognized her and knew it was him she'd been talking to.
Amber.
The redhead stood there, hands on her hips, lips pouted and with one eyebrow raised.
Jungkook took a deep breath. "What do you want, Amber?"
"Nothing," she said, suddenly changing her voice from menacing to honey sweet. "I'm just amazed to see you here. I thought Jungkook would've dropped his interest in you already." She held her finger to her lip. "Or, maybe he has and you've gone back to your stalkery ways." She looked at her two friends, before looking back at her. "Now, that does sound more like something you would do."
"Honestly, Amber," Jungkook said, his patience running thin. "Get a life." He wanted to pass her, to go inside the hotel, but she blocked him.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To my hotel room," he said. "What do you think?"
Amber looked at her. "Show me your hotel room card."
"What?"
She cocked an eyebrow. "You heard me."
"Are you seriously asking me to prove that I have a room here?" His words, spoken with her voice, sounded loud and shrill, but the look on Amber's face told him she enjoyed it.
Several people around them, turned around to see what was going on but none intervened.
"We all know what your real deal is," Amber said. "You're not a true ARMY, and just because you were saved the other day, doesn't mean there's anything going on and you have a right to bother them."
