When he answered my call, I completely forgot what I wanted to say. I didn't prepare myself enough. Part of me pretty much assumed he wouldn't take my call, just like the previous times I had called my phone number. But this time was different.
When I heard him say that one word, just a hello, everything around me crumbled. All the thoughts vanished as if someone had spoken a magical spell and then snapped their fingers.
"Hello?"
His voice sounded more urgent. No, it wasn't his voice. It's mine.
How could I be sure thought that this was Jungkook talking to me? There was only one way to find out. Ask him. And if he isn't Jungkook, I'll just say I dialed the wrong number.
I swallowed, pressing the phone closer to my ear.
"Jungkook?"
I could hear a small gasp on the other end and then his voice – mine – changed. It was soft, barely audible. But when he said my name, I knew the truth. This was Jungkook, and Jungkook knew I was him.
The realization that he was okay, or at least awake, made me emotional. Having him answer the phone, after several failed attempts, made me aware of how scared I'd been that he was doing worse than me.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
The sweetheart.
"Yes," I answered. "And you? Are you okay, too?"
"I am now. I'm so glad we finally found a way to connect."
"I am, too." I smiled. "I'm sorry it took me a while... Things have been rather.. hectic."
"I heard you're out of the hospital?"
"Yes, back home. Uhm... I mean, at your place." I glanced up at the mirror, watching my face heat up. "I'm in the bathroom right now, hiding."
"Why?"
"Well, it's a little hard to explain to the others that you're calling a girl who you've never met to find a way to meet them in real life."
He chuckled. "I bet it is."
"Tae's sleeping in your room, so I have to be quiet, but I wanted to let you know that tomorrow," I glanced at my watch, noticing it was just before 2 in the morning, "or maybe I should say today we'll be leaving for the next city, Oslo. They want the tour to start the day after tomorrow and I am slightly terrified to do this, so... before then, we have to reverse this.. situation."
"Yes," he agreed. "Let's meet before hand. What time is your flight?"
"At 3PM. We're leaving from Heathrow airport. Shall we meet there?"
"I think that's the best place, yes. I can't go up to where you are right now, because, well, I won't be let in looking like this."
I chuckled softly. "You can't be a crazy fan, they won't let you near me."
"Indeed. So, the airport is probably the best place to meet because Big Hit expects fans to be there. Now, I'm just not very familiar at the airport, so I'm not sure if there's like a place where we can meet..."
"I might know a place," I said quickly. "I know Heathrow pretty well, so I can just send you a text with directions."
"Yes, please do. I'll make sure I'll be there."
I smiled, even though my heart was racing. I would soon meet Jungkook, my bias, the man who could make my heart flutter just by the mere sight of him. Even though I saw him every time I looked in the mirror, it wasn't the same. Knowing I'd actually meet him, disguised in my body, was a completely different feeling.
