A sigh of relief slipped past your lips as you sunk into your couch-the only piece of furniture that was in place and ready to be used. You were surrounded by boxes and all of your unpacked belongings. It was later in the evening now, and you had very little energy left to do much of anything. It had been a long day of moving into your new apartment and the only thing you really wanted to do was sit down with a tub of ice cream. Your head rolled back and your eyes closed. You could have fallen asleep right there had you not been interrupted by a light knocking on your door.
Forcing yourself to your feet, you sleepily walked toward the door. Grabbing the doorknob and giving it a strong tug, you were surprised to see a young boy grinning at you. "Hi!" He chirped, holding out a bouquet of flowers. You hesitantly took the flowers into your grip and inhaled their scent as he continued, "I'm Niall, your neighbor. I saw you moving in and I just wanted to come over and introduce myself."
A sly smirk tugged at your lips as you lowered the flowers, holding them in front of you. Your eyes trailed over his figure. He wore a gray sweater with 'QUIET' printed across it, and a pair of gray pants. His hair was blond only at the tips, and his eyes were of a striking blue color. He was still grinning when your eyes moved back to meet his. "Sorry," You breathed, feeling a little embarrassed. He was beautiful. "I'm (Y/N)," You told him. He extended a hand to you and you gladly took it. He firmly shook your hand for a moment before using your hand to pull you into a hug.
"There we go," He chuckled, patting your back, "That's nice." You giggled as he pulled away, letting his hand slide down your arm. His eyes glanced upward, over your head, and he took note of all the boxes piled up behind you. "Do you need some help with that?" He asked, nodding his head toward your boxes, "I mean, unless you have a boyfriend or someone that can help you..." He trailed off. Nice one, Niall, he mentally patted himself on the back, smooth as hell.
You blushed and dropped your eyes to your feet. "No, it's just me," You admitted. His smile only widened.
"Great!" He cheered, "Then I can help you."
You laughed and nodded, stepping aside so he could come in. He walked in, with his hand in his pockets, and let his eyes wander around the space. There were unpacked boxes everywhere. You shut the door after him and stepped around him, saying, "I think I might have some bottled water somewhere. Would you like one?"
He laughed at your attempt to be a good hostess and said, "I'll be fine, thanks." He leaned against a stack of boxes and brought his eyes to you, clicking his tongue.
"You know what?" You squeaked, "Why don't we just do this another time? I'm super tired. Here, come sit with me." You fell onto your couch and patted the empty spot next to you. He sat beside you and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Where are you from?" You curiously asked, adoring his accent.
"Ireland," He proudly said, grinning at you. "I'm from Mullingar. I knew you'd ask! Everyone always does."
"Sorry," You mumbled, "That probably gets annoying. I was just curious. Your voice is lovely."
He caught his bottom lip between his teeth before winking and saying, "Well, you'll be hearing a lot of my lovely voice, darlin'."
