You held a lamp above your head as you took another threatening step toward the intruder that was currently in the midst of climbing through the window in your kitchen.
“Please don’t hit me with that thing,” He begged, and you recognized his voice instantly.
“What is wrong with you?!” You gasped when you realized that the intruder was actually just Niall. You dropped the lamp and hurried over to him as he attempted to wiggle his way through the window, head first. Once half of his body was through, he placed his hands on the floor and pulled his lower half in until he just collapsed on the floor. He rolled over on his back and looked up at you, giggling as you glared at him. “You are insane, Niall,” You said to him before you stepped over him to close the window.
“You really should lock your windows,” Niall advised from his spot on the floor. You rolled your eyes and grabbed his hands, helping him to his feet. Your hands were still knitted together long after he was standing, and Niall smirked at you when he noticed this. As a result, you quickly dropped your hands and brushed them off on your shirt before pushing past Niall. He followed behind you as you slumped into the couch. You stared up at him while he stood in front of you. With your arms crossed over your chest, you waited for an explanation.
“I brought you something,” He said, digging in his pocket until he pulled out a flower. The stem was bent and the pink petals were slightly wrinkled, but it was a flower, nonetheless. He held his hand out, waiting for you to take the flower. A shy smile tugged at your lips and you plucked the flower from his grip. Holding it in your hand, you brought it to your nose and closed your eyes as you inhaled the sweet scent. You blinked your eyes open to see Niall scratching the back of his neck, the way he sometimes does when he’s nervous about something. You stood and took his hand, leading him back to the kitchen.
“Let’s get some water for it,” You said as you filled a small cup with water and placed the flower in the cup. After positioning the cup on the counter, you stepped back to admire the flower one last time. “Thanks, Nialler,” You said and you turned around to face him.
“It reminded me of you when I first saw it,” He told you, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“Really? How?” You asked, turning the lights off in the kitchen and leading the way out of the room.
“It’s pretty and makes me smile, just like you,” Niall explained, and you stopped in your tracks. You felt Niall’s arms wrap around you as he hugged you from behind. His chin rested on your shoulder and he pecked your cheek. You were at a loss for words, and Niall seemed to take that as a good thing. He was right, though. It was a good thing.
You looked up at him, and he smiled softly as your eyes locked with his. “Since I’m already here, you wouldn’t mind if I stayed the night, would you?” Niall whispered before he kissed the side of your face again.
“You know the way to my room,” You whispered back and Niall smirked. He placed an arm underneath your knees and swept you off of your feet and into his arms, carrying you up the stairs to your bedroom.
**I love ending imagines like that because it allows your imagination to finish the story for you, and that’s what imagines are all about, right?**
