You could still remember the day that Niall walked into the school, looking as new as they come. He had a fresh haircut, new shoes, stylish clothes, and that nervous look written all over his face. Luckily, you were the first person he ran into.
“Hi,” You smiled as he looked up at you.
“Hey,” He said in a quiet, timid voice.
“You’re new, aren’t you?” You said, already knowing the answer.
His eyes traveled back down to his feet as he nodded. “Yes…how did you know?”
You chuckled, swinging your bag over your shoulder. “I just know.”
You began your way down the hallway when you noticed him following you. “Do you need help finding a class?” You asked politely, stopping and catching him off-guard.
He looked a bit shocked as his blue eyes grew wide. You already knew what he was thinking. “Don’t worry; I won’t give you wrong directions,” You assured him.
He took a deep breath, looking relieved as he handed you his schedule. “I don’t know where any of my classes are,” He admitted.
You examined his schedule to find that he had his first four classes with you.
And that’s how your friendship began.
Ever since then, you’ve been like siblings. You usually study together after school, and you even hang out on the weekends. But, it wasn’t until last week when you noticed that you felt a little different around Niall. It wasn’t a bad feeling, but a different feeling.
And it wasn’t until a couple hours ago when you realized what it was.
Love.
Which, this wasn’t exactly the best time for that. Niall just got a girlfriend, and he was always talking about her. As if he really had feelings for the girl, and of course, this only broke your heart more. He seemed so excited, and he would text you at 3:00 AM just to talk about his night with her, and you’d cringe while reading his texts.
Being in an awkward situation, you thought it best to stay away from Niall for a while, as hard as it seemed. You were used to spending every second with him, and now you were almost trying to avoid him- it wasn’t right, but…what else could you do?
Well, after some time, Niall decided to drop by your house since you hadn’t been answering his texts or calls and, being the wonderful best friend he is, he was starting to worry about you.
You swung the door open to see his smiling face, and a tall, thin girl standing right beside him. You were guessing she was the girlfriend. Ew.
“Hi,” You mumbled.
His smile immediately fell, and was replaced with a small frown. “Mechaela, what’s wrong with you?” He asked, inviting himself into your house just like he always used to. Except this time, he had her. And you didn’t want her around. But of course, she followed him right inside your house, totally intruding and invading the little privacy you had to begin with.
You were fighting back the urge to slap the girl while you put on a fake smile. “Nothing,” You spat. “Who’s this little queen?” You quickly snapped, not really intending to say it out loud.
Niall seemed a bit taken back as he took the girl’s hand in his. “This little queen would be my girlfriend. Her name is Patricia,” Niall smiled at her.
You couldn’t help but gag. “Patricia?!” You laughed. “Well, aren’t you special.” You rolled your eyes and pushed past her.
She sneered at you. “Excuse you, princess,” She said sarcastically.
“Guys,” Niall warned. “Stop it,” He said, looking directly at you.
You gasped and sat down in a huff. “She’s the one who just walked right in like she belongs…which she doesn’t,” You said.
“C’mon, Patricia. We’re obviously not wanted here,” Niall sassed, grabbing her hand and heading for the door. She threw you an evil grin as he led her outside.
“Call me when you’re ready to talk!” Niall angrily shouted at you while he slammed the door shut after him. You could hear the girl complaining as she and Niall made their way to his car that was parked by the curb.
Running your fingers through your hair, you sighed and let your thoughts flood your mind. You loved Niall, which was obvious by now. But, he had this ‘Patricia’. She was definitely an obstacle for you. You wouldn’t have anything near a chance with Niall until she was out of the way. And even then, he’d never consider you.

Hearing the doorbell ring, you forced yourself out of bed to see who was there. To your surprise, it was Niall. But this time, he was alone. Good. Maybe the witch decided to stay in the car.
You pulled the door open and Niall invited himself inside again, closing the door after him.
“What do you want?” You snapped, placing your hands on your hips.
“Listen, Mechaela,” He said, stepping up to you and resting his hands on your shoulders.
“I’m listening.”
“On the car ride home, Patricia started to talk about you. She was being really evil. She actually wouldn’t shut up. It was when she said ‘she’s probably loved you for a while’ when I stopped and realized that what I was doing was all wrong. I don’t belong with Patricia. I belong with you,” He said. “I love you, Mechaela. And I hope what she said is true…that you love me too.”
You stopped in your tracks, letting your moth fall open as the words poured out of his mouth. “You, uh, you broke up with her?” You asked, your breath catching in your throat.
“Yes, I did,” Niall said.
You threw yourself into his open arms, allowing a couple tears to slip from your eyes. You’d waited for this moment, and now, it had finally come.
“I do love you, Niall,” You whispered as he hugged you close.
**Hi! I really really apologize for the long wait! This might have turned out a little different than you expected, but I tried to stick to the request as best as I could! I’m sorry if it’s not that great, I’m struggling with writer’s block again (ugh it’s horrible)! But I hope you enjoyed your imagine, dear!**
