You shut the door behind you, slipped your shoes off and ran for the kitchen, where you knew Niall would be. Sure enough, you spotted him stuffing his face while you slid around the corner.
"Niall!" You shrieked excitedly, choosing to ignore the fact that he was sneaking food again.
"Y-yes?" He mumbled through a mouthful of food.
"Guess what!" You said, clapping your hands together and doing your little happy dance.
"Umm, you found a fish on the street?" Niall guessed, with a little giggle.
You rolled your eyes and playfully slapped his arm. "No! I got the job!" You squealed with excitement.
"You did?!" He beamed, grabbing you and twirling you around in his arms. "Honey, that's so great!"
"I know!" You cheered. "And you're the first person I told."
He smiled and kissed your forehead, "I'm honored to be the first to know, darling," He said to you.
"I gotta call my mom and tell her," You reached for your phone, dialing the number as Niall continued to smile at you.
"Mom!" You said through the phone.
"Yes, (Y/N)? Is there something wrong?" Your mom responded.
You giggled. "No! No, nothing's wrong. I got the job, mom!"
You could almost hear the grin on her face. "That's wonderful, (Y/N)."
After chatting a bit longer with your mom, you hung up the phone, turning back to face Niall. "I'm just so happy!" You squeaked.
"Well I'm very proud of you, babe," Niall said. "Maybe we should celebrate?"
You nodded, "I think we should."
"Then c'mon, I've got an idea," Niall smirked and reached for your hand.
"Well hang on, let me change!" You chuckled and ran up to yours and his bedroom, shuffling through the closet. You pulled out a cute light blue dress that went to your knees, and slipped a bow in your hair.
You followed Niall out of the house after throwing a pair of flats on. He led you to his car, and opened the door for you, just like the gentleman he is.
As he got into the driver's seat and started the car up, you asked where he was headed.
He replied by shaking his head and smirking, saying, "Not telling you. You'll see when we get there."
The ride wasn't all that long; about twenty minutes. And you arrived at a spot that you were quite familiar with, the lakefront.
Niall pulled a couple blankets out of his car and planted them on the ground, in a spot with the perfect view of the water. "Join me, m'lady," He smiled, reaching for your hand.
You sat next to him on a blanket, staring out at the sunset upon the water. It was pretty, and having Niall by your side made it a lot more enjoyable. "Thanks, Nialler," You said, holding his hand.
He nodded, "It's pretty, isn't it?" He asked, staring at you.
You nodded, "Yep."
"So are you," He said while looking into your eyes.
Niall leaned in for a kiss, knowing there was no place either of you would rather be.
