"Stop," You hissed, placing your hand up like a shield, covering your face. "I don't want to talk to you anymore, Niall," You growled, marching past him. Leaving your boyfriend to stand alone in the hall, you excused yourself to find an outfit for the day. Niall's shoulders fell and he let his head roll back, a long sigh emitting from his throat.
He trudged to the closed bedroom door and lightly knocked on it, calling out, "(Y/N)? Babe?"
Ignoring him, you tugged your denim jacket on and slipped into a pair of boots. Niall rested his forehead against the door, placing his hand on the doorknob. But as soon as he did, the door swung open and you gasped when he nearly toppled over. He caught himself, blushing furiously. Clearing his throat, he tried to keep a steady voice as he demanded, "Where are you going?"
"I already told you," You flatly said, "I have plans to meet my friends for lunch today. Just because you don't want to come, doesn't mean I shouldn't go, either."
"Well, I didn't mean it like that," He scoffed, folding his arms over his chest. "Babe, they're not gonna to want to meet me, anywa-"
"Niall!" You growled, shutting him up rather quickly. "I promised them like a month ago, when we made the plans, that you'd be there. Of the ones that have boyfriends, I've met every single one at least once. They haven't met you at all, yet! We've been dating for two years, this is insane! I feel like you're... I just..." You sighed, stopping yourself before you could release your secrets. You didn't want Niall to know how you felt. Perhaps it would make you look weak, if he knew what you were really feeling? Maybe he would think it was stupid? Surely he'd deny it, but that wouldn't help the way you felt. Grabbing your purse, you slung it over your shoulder and quietly said, "I'll see you when I get home."

"Where's Niall?"
"Yeah, where's the hunk?!"
"(Y/N), you promised he'd be here..."
"I know," You snapped, quieting the table. That came out a little harsher than you meant for. "Sorry," You breathed, "I know I promised. I'm upset, too."
"Why isn't he here?" One friend questioned, sipping from her strawberry smoothie. "Oh, didn't you say he's always busy with his job? Is that why, maybe?"
"He has off today," You mumbled, dropping your eyes to your lap.
She pushed her smoothie aside and quietly said, "Oh..."
"Well maybe he just wanted to enjoy a day off to himself," Another friend shrugged, "That's not terrible, you know. We can live without him, right? After all, we need to catch up with each other. Never mind the boys!"
A small smile tugged at your lips and you mumbled, "Yeah, I guess."
You tried to enjoy a nice lunch with your girls but your worries about your relationship were constantly picking at the back of your mind. You couldn't shake them away, and the way your phone constantly vibrated in your purse wasn't making it any better. You knew Niall was trying to get a hold of you. After the fifteenth text message, your phone loudly vibrated continuously. All eyes turned to you and you sighed, fishing the device out of your purse. "Can I take this? Sorry..." You muttered, bringing your phone to your ear. Thankfully, your friends were understanding this time.
