Imagine for Alex!

"Alex, don't be ridiculous. He's not the only guy in the world, ya know," Your friend said to you while she rubbed your back, in an attempt to calm you. You had been crying for about four hours now, all because of a stupid boy that you thought you loved.

"I just...I gave him everything!" You sobbed, snatching another tissue.

She chuckled lightly and looked up at the ceiling, "Yep, that's how it goes," She said with a nod of her head. "Listen, maybe we can go out tonight? Find someone new?" She suggested.

You just shrugged it off, not really in the mood for going out. Her hand slid off of you as she stood up and stretched a bit. "Well, you've gotta do something because I can't just sit here and watch you cry for another four hours!"

You took another tissue and dried more of your tears. You managed to giggle a little at her last statement before wiping the last of your tears from your face. You realized how stupid this was that you were crying for hours over nothing. He really wasn't that important anyway. And as everybody always says, there's plenty more fish in the sea.

"Okay," You choked out. "Maybe we could just take a trip to the store? I have absolutely nothing to eat."

Your friend's face brightened up and she nodded excitedly. "Come on, grab your purse," She said as she took your hand and pulled you to your feet.

You did as she said and grabbed your purse, along with the keys and your phone. She decided to drive, so you enjoyed a nice calm ride to the store.

"I say we hit up the cookie aisle first," She said, getting out of the car and walking next to you. You smiled and agreed, knowing that cookies were much needed.

Together you made your way through the store, grabbing random things that looked good and throwing them in your shopping cart. "Ooh, have you ever tried these?!" Your friend asked before holding up a box of crackers for you to see.

"Never heard of that kind before," You told her. This must have intrigued her because she set the box in her cart.

"I'll be the first to try them, then," She said.

On your way to the check-out line, you bumped into a boy about your age who was holding a bag of candy. You stumbled back a bit and then regained your posture before getting a quick look at him. He was cute. Really cute.

"Oh, sorry," You chirped. "Didn't, um, see ya there!"

He chuckled and extended a hand to you. "Didn't see you either, miss. Sorry 'bout that. The name's Niall. You?"

You smiled at him and shook his hand before identifying yourself. "I'm Alex."

He nodded, "So, Alex...."

"So, Niall..." You copied his tone, making him laugh a little.

"Alex! What are you doing- oh, hey!" Your friend popped out of nowhere, and stopped mid-sentence when she noticed Niall. She gave you a look that said 'go for it' but you ignored it because at this point, she was just trying to hook you up with someone.

"Niall, this is my bestie," You said, pointing to your friend. She waved at Niall.

"Nice to meet you both," He said, never letting that smile leave his face.

"We should probably keep going, don't you think?" You said to your friend. She looked confused for a second before shaking her head.

"You know what; I'll go check out for you and you two can just talk," She said, taking your cart, along with her own, and walking up to the check-out line.

You mentally slapped yourself in the face. But, on the outside, you continued to smile. "Well, I really should go," You said awkwardly.

Niall nodded. "Yes, of course. Hey, um, I'd like to get to know you better. Maybe we can get together some time? Do you like coffee?" He offered before taking a pen from his pocket and reaching for your hand.

You were confused as he scribbled something on your hand, but when you looked at it, it was clearly his phone number. You giggled and looked up at him. "Sure, I'd love to. I'll text you when we get home?"

He smiled even bigger and nodded, "Yes, that's perfect."

"Okay, bye for now, Niall."

"Bye, Alex," He said, winking at you and continuing on his way through the store.
