*Niall’s POV*

I stood from the side and watched while Harry introduced himself to her. I pretended that I wasn’t watching, but I had been keeping a close eye on them all night. I watched her closely, never letting her out of my sight while my mind flooded with her words from the day before; “I freaking love you.” She said she loved me and, even though it was kind of a spur of the moment type of thing, I truly believe she meant it.

My eyes watched her intently while she laughed at Harry, and she was holding a glass of something in her hand. She took a step back and continued to giggle when Harry suddenly offered his hand to her. I pried myself from the wall, and took a warning step closer to them just as she took his hand and followed him. I was quick in catching up to them. Harry was singing while swinging her hand in his as they walked, which was soon interrupted when I placed my hand on Harry’s shoulder, swinging around and stealing her from his grip.

I pulled her into my side while discreetly whispering, “Don’t ever leave without me again.”

Harry softly smiled at me and nodded while I retrieved my hand from his shoulder. “A very lovely lady you’ve got there,” He commented.

I clenched my fist and inhaled a sharp breath. “Yeah,” I muttered.

This was what I feared the most. She had begged me to let her meet my friends, but everyone else was out of town. So, I called Harry and we ended up meeting at this old bar down the street. But (Y/N) wasn’t much of a drinker, and I wasn’t really in the mood for it. She seemed really excited to talk to him, but the second I recognized that glint in his eye, I knew he was after her.

“Well, I think me and (Y/N) are gonna get going now…” I stated, slowly gravitating away from Harry until she planted her feet on the floor, preventing both of us from moving.

“Why do we have to leave so soon, Niall?” She said, pouting.

The corner of my lips curled up and I shrugged. “Because, princess, I’m getting a bit tired, I guess.” I scrambled to think of an excuse.

She frowned slightly, and I wanted to give her hugs and shower her in kisses until she smiled again. “Okay, Niall. Let’s go,” She said sweetly, taking my hand in hers and leading us to the door after quickly waving goodbye to Harry.

I sighed in relief once we walked through the door, as the cool air slapped against my skin. I breathed in the refreshing air, and watched as my quick breaths evaporated around me. I knelt down and rested my palms on my knees.

“You okay?” She asked, setting her hand on my back and rubbing circles into my muscles.

“Yea, I’m fine,” I breathed, hiding the fact that I was clearly bothered by the idea that Harry almost walked away with her.

It was in my car, halfway down a busy street, when I lost it. I gripped the steering wheel, letting out a frustrated groan.

“Niall, honey, what’s wrong?” And the next thing I knew, she was leaning really close to me, so close that I could feel her breath on my skin.
