Stargazing【Zane X Reader】[ Ongoing ]

[ Chapter 22 ]

Y/n's pov.  

" My lady " I see Calliope put down two bowls of different fresh herbs on the ground.

" Thank you " I said.

I add the red colored beans in my mortar and start crushing them with the pestle, grinding them well before adding the purple berries which are medicinal and crush them as well. The juices squeezes out as I mix and soon enough they start to become a liquid consistency I wanted but it's still a little dry so I add more of the berries. When it was the color magenta I take a whiff of it and it smells sweet and I put down the pestle before using my own hand to apply it on the neck of the dragon, there's a big claw mark just across the neck and it doesn't need any stitches. I notice the dragon is breathing heavily and sort of snoring since we injected him with a sedative, covered his eyes with a blanket and pretty much asleep, we have to make sure he's hydrated as well.

" Do you need anything else? " She asked and I look up at her with my head shaking.

" It's alright, I can get them myself, you should help the others " I said, she snickers a little.

" I'm not quite sure, I'm assigned to assist you my lady " she said.

I sit here in thought and an idea pop up.

" Then I ask you to help me assist the others " I said, she chuckles.

" That is acceptable I suppose " I smile and she leaves.

I sigh and look back at the dragon.

" It must've suck to be what you are and suffer like this " I said and apply the medicine more.

" I just think you guys deserve more than this, your so much more than this, people just can't appreciate how beautiful the creature we live with " I said.

" You guys deserve better " I notice I'm starting to run out of the medicine so I add more of the berries and beans.

" They definitely do " I look up over my shoulder to see Ein taking a seat beside me.

" I didn't know you would be here, Your Highness " I said.

" Just call me Ein, Capricorn clan are task to help and I wanted to, do you need some help here? " He gestures to the mortar and pestle.

" Umm, I think I got it " I said and continue on grinding the medicine.

" I wanted to say my condolences " he said.

Memories flood in my mind when he said that but I continue to grind the herbs.

" I know it was three weeks ago but I didn't get to visit and tell you earlier " he said.

" I'm satisfied with the results, I don't think much of it anymore " I said.

" Right, sorry for bringing it up " he said, the edge of my lip tugs up.

" You can help me by applying this on the wound " I finish up mixing the medicine and pass him the mortar.

" I don't know how " he said, I see his hands are pretty much clean so I guess he just washed them.

" Just use your hand and spread it directly to it, don't worry about the amount, I'm going to get some bandages " I said.

" Got it " he said and I clean my hands with a rag.

I get up from the ground then walk away, it's midday and we're just tending to the wound of the dragon. I approach the stacks of crates where the supplies are, I start opening them to look for it and move it around.

" Y/n " I look over my shoulder to the familiar voice and see aunt Lorelei approaching me.

" Aunt Lorelei " I said and she smiles, I turn to her and she stood in front of me.
