[ Chapter 23 ]

Y/n's pov.  

" Your a healthy boy today, aren't you? " I tickle the baby boy as he giggles.

I pick him up from the bed and he gurgles, I'm currently at Laurence's house treating Levi, I didn't expect him to live alone in this big mansion but I suppose Levi is his only company at the moment.

" He's been making whistling sounds yesterday, are you sure? " I look at Laurence standing on the other side of the bed.

" That's a flare up " I said and put the baby back down on the bed.

I feel my hand around his ribs and and it is a little swollen, seeing how is belly is moving to his breathing pattern.

" Seems like it passed already " I open his mouth and look inside his throat.

" A little inflammation, did you use any perfumes around him? " I asked, Laurence shakes his head.

" No, I don't even leave candles around " he said.

" Well that must be it, sometimes the cold can trigger his asthma " I said.

" Really? " He asked, I hum then wrap up the little boy in his bundle.

" I'd say Levi's healthy today " I pick him up and Laurence walk around the bed.

I pass Levi to him and he holds Levi gently.

" He also set fire often, if it goes on he might just burn down my house " he said, I chuckle.

" We can't do anything about that, you just have to comfort him and reassure he's safe " I said and caress Levi's head.

" That wasn't easy " he said.

" Your doing just fine " I said then turn away to my supplies.

" Are you sure he's fine? " I turn back to Laurence.

" Yes " I said.

He nods and I can see in his face that he's troubled.

" Unless there's something else you haven't told me " I said.

" The first few days I was with him he cries a lot and wakes me up but last week, he wasn't crying until now " he said.

" That's a good thing, baby's tend to get more sleep as they grow up and less crying " I said.

" You have to check him again " he said then set Levi down on the bed.

" Okay " I said and sit back down on my stool.

I unwrap Levi and examine him again, I notice how worried Laurence look and I can tell he hasn't gotten enough sleep.

" He's usually more alert than this, I sat up the entire night almost for a week now to make sure he was breathing " he said.

" Uh-huh " I said and check Levi's eyes.

" Uh-huh?, What you mean uh-huh? " He asked.

" I see the problem " I said.

" What is it?, Just tell me " he said and I look at him.

" You are " I said.

" Me?, I'm the problem?, What?, What did I do?! " He had panic in his eyes and laugh as I pick up Levi.

" Your going paranoid from the lack of sleep " I said and pass Levi back to him.

" Levi is completely okay " I said.

" You must be wrong then " he said.

" Your questioning my medical skills? " I asked.

" It's been over 99 hours and he hasn't cried, obviously there's something wrong with him, I have to sleep with him or he cries, I'm pretty sure I did something to him in my sleep " he looks at me with his tired eyes.
