60. Verdict

As soon as Ken was taken away by the police, Jin was asked to give his statements in the precinct. His parents, along with their lawyers, were there the whole time to assist Jin with everything.

Ken has admitted to the crime of abducting Jin which he said was a personal motive for him as he has desires of being with the CEO. He also told the authorities that they were attacked by unknown enemies, thus causing the gun fights where his father died.

It was a mutual agreement between Jin and Ken - that Jin promised that he will convince his parents not to press further charges for the abduction, if Ken wouldn't expose anything about the Bangtan Sonyeondan gang.

Though it was difficult for Ken as he very well knew that it was Taehyung who killed his father, he accepted it with a heavy heart as he is aware that Taehyung just wanted to save Jin from that monster of his father was.

Therefore, Ken was discharged of the criminal case against him. However, he received more of the charges that was supposed to be towards Kangchul since Ken's name is also a part of their business. Countless illegal doings, illegal possessions of firearms and other fraudulent activities were thrown at him; not to further mention their pending investigation with the US' FBI.

Hence, Ken was still apprehended despite Jin trying to help him. But before they parted ways, Ken expressed his deepest apologies to Jin, which the latter has forgiven wholeheartedly.

On the other hand, Jin's parents were furious knowing what the Lee's have done. They were very regretful that they've put too much of their trust into them, to the point that they were arranging Jin to be married to Ken.

With this, Jinhoo asked for forgiveness from his son, letting him know that he never intended for Jin to go thru such thing.

Jin wanted to take advantage of the situation, so he revealed to them everything that he's been wanting to tell them - why he didn't want to consider the arranged marriage with the Lee's and why he's not willing to get back with Ken. All so because he is in love with another man who is not of the same status in the society as they are.

Jin has confessed about his pregnancy too, which Jinhoo and Sunhee accepted, but with hesitation at first. They wanted to know who the man was that Jin is dating and what his plans are for their son.

But after what has just transpired, Jin asked them to give him more time before he can introduce his boyfriend. With all consideration, his parents agreed and took him back home to his penthouse.

Jimin opened the door to Jin's penthouse, which surprised the old folks.

"Oh you are here, Park Jimin?" Sunhee asked.

"Ah yes, mum. I asked Chim and Hobi to wait for me here and accompany me for the night. So you and dad can go rest too. I'll just see you tomorrow to meet with the lawyers for some other things we need to finish up." Jin said.

"Are you sure you'll be fine here, son?"

"Yes mum, I'd be more comfy with them around."

Sunhee and Jinhoo looked at each other and nodded. Then Jinhoo said, "Okay Seokjin. But I will leave a few bodyguards here and outside, just so we can be sure."

"Okay, dad. Thanks. See you tomorrow."

Jimin closed the door after Jin's parents left, and settled the alarm back on. Then both him and Hobi quickly pulled Jin for a hug, as they let themselves burst into tears.

"Oh thank God you're okay, Jin!! We're so sorry we let you get kidnapped. We really had been so careless!" Hobi said while sobbing.

"Please, guys, no! Don't say that! It wasn't anybody's fault. I am thankful you are here for me and were able to inform Tae and the others about the situation." Jin said, rubbing Jimin and Hobi's backs.

"Is it over now? You think everything's over?" Jimin asked.

"I hope so, Chim. We'll see how things will turn out after the filing of cases are finalized. Ken is apprehended, but I'm sure he'll be able to bail himself out tomorrow.
How long have you been here, by the way? And who's updating you of everything?"

"Yoongi. He's the one who took us here after the encounter at Ken's place. We were at Tae's house as they said it's much safer there. Namjoon remained there per Tae's instruction. Then Joonie asked Soobin to stay with him. So it's me and Chim who are left with the duty of accompanying you, while Tae, Jungkook and Yoongi headed back to their headquarters." Hobi explained.

"Oh. Okay. So, does that mean we can't contact them right now?" Jin asked.

"Yeah, I guess so. Kook said let's just wait for their call. I think they're sorting things out and laying low too." Jimin answered. "Are you okay? Are you worried of Tae?"

"I am always worried of him." Jin sighed, then he walked to the living room and took his seat. "But what bothered me the most was Tae seemed to be upset with me. He thought I was defending Ken."

Jimin and Hobi looked at each other knowingly, which made Jin worry even more.

"W-why?! Did Tae tell you something?!" Jin asked.

The two joined Jin on the sofa and took his hands. Then Jimin said,
"He actually asked us to not leave your side tonight as he said he didn't want to face you right now, hence he won't come home yet. He told Namjoon not to be here for the meantime too."

"I think he was really hurt, Jin. He and his team risked it all to rescue you. Maybe it was a bit too much for him to see you in that state - siding with Ken and all." Hobi added.

"I didn't side with Ken! Well-- yes, I kinda did. But I have a reason! I was really mad at Ken for abducting me and forcing me to marry him. But when his father came with an injection to abort my baby, Ken opposed him. He didn't want me and my child hurt. I owed him a lot, if it wasn't for him, I could've already got a miscarriage..

If only Tae would listen to my explanation, he would understand. B-but he won't talk to m-me! W-what should I do then?!" Jin started to cry harder, which worried his friends.

"We understand, Jin. Maybe for now, it's better if we give Tae more time to get his head around things. They have plenty of issues to worry about with their gang too. So it's too much for him right now." Jimin said as he placed his arms around Jin's shoulders.

"That's true. We are worried about Yoongi and Jungkook too. So let's give them space for now. What's important is we are all safe now, and the Lee's were taken care of. We'll just be here for you, Jinnie."

Jin just nodded, though thankful of having his friends around, he was still hoping to at least talk and reason out with Taehyung.

It was heart-breaking for Jin to let this night end like this - wasn't able to thank Taehyung for saving him, and letting him know how much grateful he is and how much he loves him.
