Addison sat down on her bed, staring into the abyss. She had no idea what to think of the fact that Galante, their lecturer, is staying in the same house as them. More like have been staying in their house for more than a month but didn't know about it.
She started dialling Jordan's number, though he was only two rooms away.
"Jordan what the heck?!" Addison exclaimed as soon as he picked up. "Galante is our Mystery Tenant?!"
"I know right!" Jordan groaned. "I never expected it to be him. Of all people, him! Oh, what do I do now...?"
"Let's just pretend he never lived here," Addison suggested. "After all, he barely comes out. None of us even knew he lived here, until today, that is. Seriously, he's been living here for more than a month and we never knew!"
"I hope he shows himself just as less now," Jordan sighed. "The last thing I want is a teacher living in our house. A teacher we didn't really like at that."
"I thought you liked Galante? I mean... after that incident at the balcony, he's not disturbing you much?"
"Yeah, but still?!" Jordan groaned. "Addie, one of our college lecturers is living with us. Let that sink in."
Addison sighed. "You're right... it's like... isn't it enough that we see him at school and now here too?"
"Exactly," Jordan pointed out. "Anyway, I'm gonna stay out as much as I can."
"Something tells me he hates this just as much as we do," Addison sighed. "So my guess is that he's gonna come out even less now. Maybe he'll stay out and only come home after bedtime?"
"I'm just hoping he won't be as noisy after this. He sometimes disturbs my study time."
"You actually study?"
Jordan fell silent on the other end. "Why?" He finally said. "Do I seem that stupid?"
"Nah, it just isn't like you," Addison chuckled. "But I guess now it makes sense why you're really smart."
"Thanks..." Jordan chuckled. "Also... wanna go out? For some reason, I don't feel like sitting around here. Feels like Galante is watching my every move."
Addison snorted. "Same here... but sure. Where do you wanna go?"
"Anywhere... I just wanna stay out of this place."
"Sure, I don't mind..."Addison went downstairs and looked around for Jordan. He wasn't in his room either.
She went outside to check and turns out, he was waiting for her on the porch.
"Why are you waiting here and not inside?" Addison asked. "It's gonna rain too."
"Whatever, I just wanna be out for as long as possible now," Jordan frowned. "Come on."
So she got into a car and they ended up going to Sundeer Cafe since they had nothing else to do.
"How long do you wanna sit here?" Addison asked.
"Until my shift comes up," Jordan sighed.
"How long more is that?" Addison sighed.
"Three more hours," Jordan informed before taking a sip of his coffee.
Addison sighed. "Then can you leave me at the convenience store in about an hour?"
Jordan frowned at his coworker who eyed him suspiciously from the counter. "You know what? Let's go now."
"But your shift doesn't start for another three hours," Addison reasoned. "Mine too."
"Right, but I don't like sitting here," Jordan said in a low voice. "You see that guy at the counter? Yeah, he's my annoying coworker."
"Oh wow..." Addison snorted. "But you sure you wanna go to the convenience store and spend three hours there for no reason."
"Then what do you suggest?" Jordan asked.
Addison shrugged. "Not sure. How about we go to the mall and watch a movie?"
Jordan frowned for a while, then nodded. "Sure. But this ain't a date."
"I know, idiot," Addison rolled her eyes. "Your girlfriend is my friend. And so are you."
Jordan smirked and they started going back to the car. Addison quickly texted Fiolina about their plan to watch a movie as they went on their way to the mall.
Addie: I repeat
Addie: This is not a date
Addie: Is that clear?
Fio: How can I trust u?
Fio: 🤨🤨
Addison sighed before typing out a reply.
Addie: Because
Addie: I'm telling you
Addie: If I'm planning to betray you
Addie: Would I tell you beforehand?
There was a pause on Fiolina's end before she finally started typing.
Fio: Fine
Fio: But ur telling me everything when I come in for work later
Fio. Ok?
Addie: 👍🏻👍🏻
Addie: Deal
Addison chuckled and got out of the car. They went up to the theatre floor and watched a movie before having a light lunch and going to the convenience store.
"I think I'll hang around here for a while before going to work," Jordan yawned as he stopped the car. "There are chairs and stuff, right?"
"Yeah," Addison said. "There's Jeff too."
"Who's that?"
"My coworker. It's his shift now."
"That dude that asked me to wash my hoodie in front of Sierra?"
"That's the one," Addison smirked. "He's actually pretty fun."
Jordan frowned. "I dunno, he seems kinda annoying."
Addison smirked, giving him a knowing look. "Do you know that he's actually Jake's college friend?"
Jordan gasped. "He goes to Harvington too?"
"Yeah," Addison chuckled. "Imagine my surprise when Jake walked in once and started talking to him like he knew him for years."
Jordan nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, then. Come on."
They went in and saw Jeff watching something on his phone. He immediately looked up when the welcome tune blared when they came in. He raised his scarred eyebrow when he saw that it was Addison, coming in more than an hour before her shift.
"Uh... you're early," Jeff said, not sure what to say when he spotted Jordan coming in behind her. "Also, hi... Hoodie."
Jordan frowned. "The name's Jordan."
Jeff nodded. "Jordan."
"Jeff, remember the mysterious new tenant that no one knows about?" Addison sat down on the chair next to the window. "Well... we saw him today."
"Is he the Superhero?" Jeff eagerly asked.
"No..." Addison sighed. "It's our Academic Writing lecturer. The one that always disturbs Jordan for no reason."
Jeff gasped. "That funny Italian guy that came in humming Santa Lucia?!"
"That's the one," Addison sighed.
To their surprise, Jeff was uncontrollable with laughter.
"It's not funny, idiot," Addison groaned. "Imagine this, your lecturer lives under the same roof as you."
"And that lecturer loves to mess up your name and make fun of your hair colour," Jordan added. "Though he no longer does that, it's still annoying."
Jeff frowned. "What colour is his hair?"
"Black," Addison answered. "Has a pompadour and an undercut, pencil moustache."
Jeff frowned thoughtfully. "Does he carry a baguette around?"
"No, he isn't French..." Addison chuckled.
"Ookay... then is his name Giovanni Cupello?" Jeff smirked.
"No..." Addison laughed, imagining the Italian character from the classic sitcom. "No, his name is Giuseppe Galante."
"Oh... in that case, does he play the trumpet?" Jeff grinned.
"Why trumpet?" Addison snorted, confused.
Jeff smirked and lifted his phone again. He started typing something out, grinning, and stepped out of the counter to show her the screen.
"This is Giuseppe Galante, trumpet player," Jeff laughed. "Is this your teacher?"
Addison laughed. "No. But his name is Giuseppe Galante too?"
"Can I see?" Jordan asked, smirking.
Jeff handed the phone to him.
Jordan instantly started laughing. "Now we have something to mock him about!"
"Then what about you, Jordan Anderson?" Addison smirked. "You have a racer's name."
"Your name is seriously Jordan Anderson?" Jeff said in surprise. "Are your parents a big fan of the racer?"
"No, but whenever he appears on tv they smirk at me and call me by my full name for at least ten minutes," Jordan sighed. "Been there before?"
"My sister," Addison chuckled. "You should see my mom whenever she hears of Madison Avenue. My sister's name is Madison, by the way."
Jeff snorted. "I have a brother named Jeremy. Let that sink in."
Addison realised why. "Are your parents fans of Top Gear?"
Jeff shrugged. "Who knows? I'm just glad they didn't name me that. He's always complaining that his teachers snort whenever they see his name on the name list. His classmates haven't got a clue though."
"But Jeremy sounds like a normal name," Jordan chimed in, not sure why they were laughing.
"His surname is Clarkson," Addison explained. "His brother's name is Jeremy Clarkson."
"I feel like he should be proud," Jordan shrugged. "Like I'm proud to share my name with a racer."
Jeff nodded, a slight smile on his face. "He is. Very. Top Gear is his favourite show, especially the older episodes."
Jordan ended up waiting there since he had no idea what else to do, considering his shift haven't started yet and he didn't wanna hang out alone.
