An hour passed, and the Earl Grey was no longer Earl Grey. Felicia considered changing the tea bag when she realised how much she and Julia had drank. The three youths had taken cover in the dining room instead.
"I can't take this, I'm gonna order something," Addison frowned, picking her phone up. "I'm starving."
"There's leftovers from breakfast, you guys want some?" Jake asked, getting up. "I'm hungry too."
Addison shrugged. There was no saying no to free food if it came from the Kennedys. Jake made his way to the kitchen and came back with a cherry pie, much to their delight.
"Wherever this Jordan went, let's not think about it now," Giuseppe said. "His mother doesn't even care."
Addison swallowed her spoonful of pie. "I agree, but doesn't that make it more worrying?"
"It does," Giuseppe admitted. "You wanna try calling him again?"
Jake put his fork down and called the redhead again, leading off to the same result. He just shrugged and continued with his pie.
"Well, Jeff did say that he asked about the electric cooker, so he was definitely planning on buying it," Addison said. "To me, Jordan doesn't really seem the type to do something stupid."
Jake shook his head. "No. He would never. But I can't help but be worried a bit because... well, what if something happened to him?"
"Like drinking and driving? Yeah, that counts as stupid," Giuseppe pointed out. "He did that just two nights ago."
"He did," Addison couldn't help but agree. "It was so bad that he even received a smack from Superhero."
"Superhero does that a lot to sober people up," Jake added. "He slapped me too."
"He dunked a whole bottle of water on me once," Addison added as well.
Giuseppe frowned at her and shook his head, but asked no questions. Addison felt like she shouldn't have said that as she turned her attention back to the half-eaten slice of pie.

Jake put the rest of the pie away in the fridge and the three of them decided to go back to the living room to see what was up. The tea was long gone so Felicia decided it was better to serve apple juice instead.
"Jake, try calling him one more time," Felicia suggested. "Maybe he's just held up somewhere."
"On a Sunday?' Addison thought to herself as she waited.
Jake called Jordan again and put the call on speaker mode. To their surprise, the phone actually rang on the other end.
"Hello?" Jordan finally answered, sounding tired. "Jake, what's wrong? You called me more than ten times."
"Jordan, where are you?" Jake asked. "Your mom is here to see you."
There was a gasp on the other end. "My mom is here?! Why didn't you wake me?!"
The others exchanged surprised glances.
"Wake you?" Jake repeated in surprise. "Where even are you? Your car hasn't been here since early this morning, where did you even go?"
Jordan let out a groan. "I'm coming now. Just tell Mom to wait."
Jake hung up and turned to them. "Well, he finally answered. Let's see what happens."
"See, I told you my baby is safe, you guys are overreacting," Julie complained.
The others exchanged glances but waited. A few minutes passed and soon, Jordan appeared.
From the stairway.
"You were upstairs the whole time?!" Jake exclaimed in surprise.
Jordan nodded. "I was."
"Then where's your car?" Giuseppe piped up.
"It's in the shop, it needed an alignment," Jordan sighed. He looked around, seeing how all of them looked flustered, save for his mother. "How long have you guys been waiting for me?"
Jake sighed. "Literal hours."
Jordan shook his head and turned to his mother as she got up and turned to him. "Hi, Mom. What brings you here?"
"Jordan!" Julie greeted him with a hug. "Where have you been? Oh, Mom has been so worried about you!"
The Kennedys exchanged knowing looks while Addison and Giuseppe looked surprised. Jordan looked annoyed as he patted her back to soothe her worried sobbing.
"I think I better get to work," Addison said, making her way around the redheads to go upstairs.
"I better get her to work too," Giuseppe added, making a beeline for the garage door.
"I'm going with them," Jake grinned and followed the other man.
Addison was surprised to get a text saying that they were both waiting for her in the driveway.

"So you guys made an exit too," Addison remarked as she got in behind them.
"Yep, it was getting a little awkward," Giuseppe agreed. "So to your shop now?"
"I guess," Addison shrugged. "You guys planning to go where?"
Jake shrugged. "I don't mind hanging in your shop now, to be honest. Jeff's a fun person."
"He seems so, and your shop is pretty cozy with snacks and all," Giuseppe added. "And there's a coffee machine."
Addison smirked slightly. "I never thought that a convenience store could become a good hangout spot."
"It was just never thought of, now that I think about it," Jake said. "Then again, maybe we just like hanging out since our friends work there."
"Good point," Giuseppe agreed.

"Well, well, it's gonna be full house today, isn't it?" Jeff remarked as soon as the three of them walked in. "Welcome! I'll be your host, Jeff Clarkson!"
Addison couldn't help but snort. "Yeah, we're all taking cover here."
"I thought you work here?" Jake remarked.
Jeff burst into laughter, pointing at Addison. Addison sighed and just made her way towards the refrigerator at the back. Jeff turned to the two men as they sat down.
"So did you guys find where Hoodie went?" Jeff asked.
"We did," Jake nodded.
"Oh, where did he go, then?"
"Nowhere, apparently," Giuseppe sighed. "He was in his room upstairs the whole time while we were panicking downstairs."
"Was he really that silent?" Jeff said in surprise. "Like... did you guys not see his car or anything?"
"His car was in the shop, so that's what threw us off," Addison said, reappearing with a bottle of iced peach tea. "I think he got up early, came here to get a snack, and then made his way to the workshop, then went home to continue his nap."
"Sounds about right," Jeff nodded, picking up the scanner. "He did seem to be in a hurry, like he had a mission to finish." He handed the bottle back to Addison, watching as she scanned her card against the reader. "Anyway, how was his mom?"
Addison inwardly groaned and turned to Jake. The blond shrugged. "She's fine, she was worried for her son, but still a chill person." He turned to Giuseppe who gave him a funny look. Jake just shrugged in reply and got off the stool, making a beeline for the coffee machine. "I'm gonna get some coffee. The machine's fixed now, right?"
"Hopefully," Jeff replied. "It got stuck earlier so I gave it a deep clean. It was fine when I tried it, hopefully, it still is."
Addison realised that there wasn't enough room for her at the table to sit. She ended up perching herself on an empty spot near the coffee counter.
"I still think it's funny how you guys were fussing around about Jordan when he was right upstairs," Jeff snorted.
"Worse since I called him like fifty times," Jake groaned, waiting for his cup to be filled. "And he was upstairs the whole time."
"Sometimes I feel like he's a ninja," Giuseppe said, joining the blond. "Stealth mode."
Addison watched as Giuseppe chose the option for Café Americano, sipping her bottle of peach tea, while Jake made his way to the counter to pay. She found it odd that he saw Jordan as a person of stealth when he was the one who easily disappeared in a blink every time she saw him around outside of class on campus.
