Addison got up and made her way downstairs again. Jordan was there, going back to having his usual hot cocoa. She simply nodded at him and made her way to the water dispenser to fill her flask with tea. After all, she decided that a whole flask of coffee isn't really a very good idea.
Jake came in and stopped short, evidently because of the redhead's presence. He locked eyes with Jordan for a brief moment then turned towards the fridge to take something out.
"Ja-Jake?" Jordan suddenly called.
Jake paused, not turning around.
"I... I'm sorry for what I said the other night," Addison turned to the redhead in surprise. "I'm not sure what came over me. I was really tired, the diarrhoea practically ate everything away inside me. But that's still no reason to speak like that, especially since you guys were just expressing concern."
Jake sighed and turned around, closing the fridge in the process. He nodded, forced a slight smile, then turned away.
"Jake?" Jordan called again.
Jake regarded him a few seconds then sighed. "Jordan, I know something's going on with you, but I'm not asking you to tell me what it is. What upsets me is the fact that... the fact that I'm not there for you when you were there when I needed comfort the most. If it wasn't for you, my depression would've worsened when my dad passed away."
Jordan smiled slightly. "You have no idea. The constant bugging you gave me helped me realise that my people still care about me, care about what I'm going through no matter how much of a jerk I've been. I felt somewhat comforted to know that you guys worry about me."
Addison stepped forward. "It's because you're our friend, Jordan. It's... it's just not the same without you fooling around with us. How can we just let it slide?"
Jake nodded. "She's right. You're fun to hang out with, Jordan."
Jordan smiled. But that smile quickly turned to a frown when he caught sight of Galante. He downed his hot cocoa, rinsed it in the sink, then turned to Addison and signalled for her to come along.
The two waved at Jake, nodded at Felicia who came down the stairs, and made their way to the driveway.
Addison smiled as she got into the car beside Jordan. "That was nice, you and Jake making up for yourselves."
"Yeah... I had to do it sometime or another."
Addison nodded. "Yeah. Poor Jake... he was really worried for you. Fio too. All of us were, even Galante."
Jordan snorted and started the car. "He was? A little birdie told me that you're his best student."
"How do you even know this stuff?" Addison asked in surprise. "It's like you have these 'little birdies' everywhere!"
Jordan smirked. "I have my sources."
Addison rolled her eyes, shaking her head as she took her phone out."How do we dodge Galante again?" Jordan asked as they walked through the row of fast food restaurants.
"Maybe by not eating at McRonalds?" Addison suggested.
"Good idea, let's go to Pizza Land instead," Jordan said. "At least they have tacos."
"And mushroom soup in a pastry bowl!" Addison gasped, looking at the menu through the window. "Let's go!"
They entered and went straight to the counter. There wasn't anyone waiting in line so they just started ordering."This is honestly the first time I'm trying this," Addison mumbled through her soup. "How come we never knew?"
"We rarely have breakfast here," Jordan shrugged. "It's always McRonalds for us."
"Blame Galante too," Addison added, dipping a chunk of bread into the soup. "He loves that big breakfast from McRonalds."
Just then, they spotted Giuseppe walking towards the shop. The two instantly groaned and ducked their heads.
"Please don't enter, please don't enter, please please, don't!" Addison muttered. "Come on, move on already!"
Galante stood in front of the shop for a few moments as if considering to enter, then seemed to change his mind and walked on. The two students heaved a sigh of relief and tried to see where he disappeared off to.
"He's entered McRonalds," Jordan informed with a sigh. "Note to self, never go to Alford's McRonalds in the morning. EVER."
"Agreed..." Addison nodded. "Now let's get to class."Addison arrived at the Academic Writing hall first and sat herself in the back row, hoping that Galante wouldn't call her out. She wasn't sure if Jordan would join her, but she bagged a spot nonetheless.
To her surprise, the redhead actually sat next to her.
"Galante here yet?" Jordan asked.
Addison shook her head and resumed whatever she was doing.
"What are you doing?" Jordan asked, seeing how she seemed like she was finishing late homework. "Is that homework?"
"Nope, writing a short story," Addison answered without looking up.
"Huh? Story?" Jordan repeated in surprise. "You're writing a story?!"
Addison frowned at him, closing her book and pushing it aside.
"Can I read it?" Jordan grinned, excitedly trying to reach for the book she pushed away.
"No." Addison pushed his arm away. "No one reads these!"
"Oh come on!" Jordan grinned. "Just a peek wouldn't hurt, right?"
"No."
Jordan scowled and turned to the front of the hall like an angry little boy. Addison snorted and took her phone out, taking a picture just as Jordan turned to see what she was doing.
"Oh yeah, I'm sending this to Fio," Addison grinned at the picture on her phone.
Jordan gasped. "No! Addie, please!"
"Then don't ask if you could read my unfinished drafts."
"Fine..."
Galante soon came in, seemingly in a better mood than usual. He went to the front and started the class.
"See, you being in a better mood, put everyone else in a better mood," Addison pointed at Jordan's face as she spoke in a hushed voice. "See? He's even smiling!"
Jordan nodded. "Yep. I can see, Addie. I have eyes too."
"I'm so sending that picture to Fiolina."
"You wouldn't."
"Sent."
"Nooo!"
