Jeff quickly straightened himself when the welcome tune blared. "Welcome!" He greeted with a smile.
Addison and Jordan looked up from their popsicles to see who it was.
To their horror, their caller was none other than Galante.
Jordan silently groaned and turned away as Giuseppe made his way around the shop to get whatever he wanted. It was a good thing he didn't see them since the cashier would be the first face a customer would see.
Jeff was confused at why the two of them turned away and faced the coffee machine instead.
"What's up with the two of you?" Jeff asked, confused.
Addison pointed her thumb towards the aisle, a panicked look on her face.
"Why?" Jeff asked, giving the unsuspecting Giuseppe a confused look. "What's wrong?"
Giuseppe groaned as he came to counter, recognising them instantly. "Seriously, you're here too?"
Addison cleared her throat. "Sir, this is where I work."
"What about Giordano?" Giuseppe asked, putting the stuff he got on the counter. "I thought you worked at Alford's Sundeer or something?"
Jeff held back a snort when he realised who he was, scanning the things quietly.
"We just wanted to have some ice cream and you're here too," Jordan groaned. "Sir, if you're annoyed because we're in your house, then imagine how we feel."
Giuseppe frowned for a moment. "Fair enough. But I'm not moving out."
"We aren't even asking you to move out, Mr. Galante," Addison sighed. "It's just... shocking."
"Well, same here," Giuseppe sighed too and turned back to Jeff. "How much?"
"Thirty-two dollars and fifty cents," Jeff answered, trying really hard to not burst into laughter.
Galante paid with a card and left after giving his two students a glare.
"Have a nice day, Addison's Lecturer," Jeff grinned, waving right before the door closed behind the Italian man.
"Jeff!" Addison groaned when the door closed. "Seriously?"
"What, I don't know his name but he's your lecturer, right?" Jeff smirked. "Also, do you know what makes this even funnier?"
"What?" Addison sighed. "I'm so done with today already..."
"It's Teacher's Day," Jeff smirked, clearly enjoying it. "And did you guys even wish him?"
The two of them looked at each other and sighed. Of course, they didn't.
"Great and now there's that," Jordan groaned, tossing his cleaned popsicle stick onto the table. "As if living with him isn't enough."
"He's been living with you for over a month and you had no idea?" Jeff said in surprise. "Seriously, how?"
"He never comes out," Addison shrugged, finishing her ice cream. "Every time we try to see who he is, all we see is the door slamming. How are supposed to know who he is?"
Jeff nodded thoughtfully. "But what about Teacher's Day? You guys ain't gonna do anything for him? That's not good!"
Addison turned to Jordan with a sigh. "You wanna do something for him?"
Jordan shrugged. "Do what?"
Addison sighed and made her way to the counter. She frowned at the chocolates on the shelf and put one on the counter. "You think this is good enough?" She asked Jeff.
"Well, a gift's a gift," Jeff shrugged, scanning it. "Besides, this is some really good chocolate."
She paid for it and went back to her spot in front of Jordan. "You're not gonna get him anything?"
Jordan sighed. "Maybe I'll get him some coffee after work. I know his favourite flavour since he sometimes comes in and buys the same one every time."
"That sounds good," Jeff shrugged. "At least now you guys are getting him something."
"What about you?" Addison frowned at her coworker. "You're not doing anything for your teachers?"
Jeff smirked. "It's Sunday. No classes."
Jordan frowned for a moment, the cogs in his head spinning. Then he turned to Addison with a deadpan look. "Addie, your friend just fooled us. Today isn't Teacher's Day."
Jeff started laughing hysterically.
Addison gasped. "It's tomorrow! Jeff!"
"I know, but at least I managed to make you guys get him something, right?" Jeff grinned. "Also, keep that chocolate safely. Else, it's gonna become a smoothie by the time you give it to him."
Addison sighed and nodded. "I can't believe you just bamboozled us like that."
Jeff shrugged. "Yep."
Jordan threw his popsicle stick away and got up. "I've gotta go. My shift's about to start."
He decided to get himself a peanut bar before leaving, waving at them.
"Not gonna lie, Hoodie isn't as bad as I thought," Jeff nodded, watching the redhead get into his car and leave. "Kinda cool actually."
"Oh, but he can be a jerk sometimes," Addison pointed out.
"That I know," Jeff snorted. "Anyway, you have twenty minutes till your shift begins."
Addison nodded and decided to get herself a chicken pie before starting her shift.Fiolina came in and slammed her hands onto the counter, startling Addison.
"Whoa, whoa, what's up?" Addison asked, taken aback. "Is something wrong?"
"What did you do with my boyfriend?" Fiolina demanded.
Addison raised her hands in surrender. "N-Nothing! I swear! We just grabbed for some coffee at the Sundeer in Alford, went to the mall, watched a movie and had some lunch, then we came straight here and had some ice cream before work. You can ask Jeff about it too, or look at the security footage if you don't believe me."
"How can I trust you?" Fiolina squinted her eyes at her.
Addison groaned. "Fio, I would never betray you. I know Jordan and I live in the same rental house and stuff, but... Fio. He's only my friend. I... look, if you don't believe me you can ask Jordan too. I don't think he's one to betray anyone. Judging by how Jake reacted when I told him about Jordan and you, I suspect that Jordan's the one getting betrayed frequently, not the one who betrays people. Okay?"
Fiolina sighed. "Fine. But try not to go out with my boyfriend much?"
"Fio, this is the first time, and possibly the last too," Addison assured. "I don't even see him much outside of college, maybe once or twice around the house, but that's it. Hey, how about you move into the house I'm staying at? The girls that used to stay in the room beside mine left and my landlady is super nice. She even gave us free breakfast this morning."
"I can't, I'm living with my parents, Addie," Fiolina slumped onto the chair in defeat. "I'd love to come live with you guys, but I don't think my parents would allow that."
"Aww, now that's too bad..." Addison frowned sympathetically. "But you have my word. I will never betray my friends. Okay?"
Fiolina nodded. "Fine. I trust you."
Addison smiled. "Thanks, Fio. By the way... something happened today. That's why Jordan and I went out today."
She went on to tell her about the Galante incident and how he actually showed up at the shop when they were having ice cream. Addison even showed her the security footage when it happened.
