"Sup, Addie," Jeff grinned as soon as she walked in.
Addison chuckled. "You seem cheerful today. What's the occasion?"
Jeff grinned wider, making his dimple look deeper, as he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm just really happy that I don't have to do that stupid assignment anymore."
"Yeah, that makes sense," Addison nodded, making her way to the food warmer. "And I don't have to sit and edit as I eat anymore."
Jeff smiled. "Thanks for that."
"Aww it's nothing," Addison simply said, putting food in the microwave. She decided to change the subject to avoid more flattery. "By the way, did you see the news yesterday?"
Jeff shrugged. "Ain't got no time for that."
"Seriously?" Addison rolled her eyes. "No wonder you're behind everything."
"Hey, don't blame me," Jeff frowned. "My classes are drowning me."
"How bad is it even?" Addison asked, confused. "Whatever. Do you know that the Superhero is back?"
Jeff gasped. "Really?! How come I don't know this?!"
"Because you live under a rock," Addison smirked, taking her food out of the microwave. "It was funny too. He was dancing around in a dark alleyway."
"How do they even know it was the Superhero?" Jeff asked, confused.
Addison rolled her eyes and took her phone out. She looked for the video that Fiolina sent her and sent it to him. Instantly, his phone dinged.
"Look at the video I just sent you," Addison informed, making her way to the drinks section.
Jeff shrugged and took his phone out to watch. He stopped short, his eyes wide. "Oh, you're right. It's the Superhero, alright."
"Now, why do you say that?" Addison asked as if she didn't know. She grabbed a bottle of milk before making her way back to the counter with a smirk. "Why do you say that's the Superhero?"
"He disappeared into a light in the end," Jeff said, putting his phone down to scan the things she bought. "Wow... he must be happy, dancing like that when no one's watching."
"Yeah, but he was wrong," Addison chuckled. "Literally everyone's seeing it now."
Jeff snorted, scanning whatever she took. "Poor guy. He just wanted to dance, celebrating his comeback or something. And now it's recorded. And viral."
"Well, I'm just glad he's okay," Addison shrugged. "At least we know that he's fine, even enjoying himself with dances."
"Yeah, that's true too," Jeff smiled. "He does look happy."***
The Superhero was a lot more active now, saving whatever that came in contact with danger. Addison was relieved but at the same time, surprised at how the Superhero could do all of that alone.
The mysterious tenant seems to be louder now too.
"You think that new guy is the Superhero?" Jake remarked when he and Addison sat to study yet again. "I mean... he's not all that noisy, just loves playing music. But as soon as the Superhero's back, look how noisy he is."
"That's a good theory..." Addison nodded thoughtfully. "Let's break into his room and find out."
Jake chuckled. "Mom's gonna kill us if we do that. She really cares about the tenants' hospitality."
Addison smiled and continued with her work. A loud thud came from somewhere upstairs, as if the tenant was dancing with metal shoes. Mrs. Kennedy came out of the kitchen with a frown, holding a tray of snacks for the students.
"What is that tenant doing up there?" Felicia demanded as she put the tray down on the table, as if they know what he was doing upstairs.
She briskly rushed up the stairs and rapped on the tenant's door.
"Whatever you're doing, will you please be quiet?" They heard Felicia's voice shout. "Thank you."
The sounds instantly stopped, never to be heard again.
That was until Felicia stepped onto the ground floor landing
*THUD*
"Hey!" Felicia shouted up the stairs.
Silence.
Felicia entered the dining room, muttering.
"This guy and his loud bangs..." Felicia shook her head. "Even Jordan isn't this noisy."
Addison snorted, remembering the painting that Jordan was making for her. She wasn't sure if he had already gifted it to her or if he was still working on it.
"Maybe he's the Superhero, after all," Jake shrugged. "Mom, what do you think? He's only noisy now that the Superhero is back."
Felicia nodded thoughtfully. "You're right, that might be true too. He's pretty buff, probably works out a lot, and he always comes home late."
"Hah, you see?" Jake smirked, turning back to Addison. "He's really buff, Addie. Sorta like The Incredible Bulk! Dude hardly smiles too."
Addison nodded. "Well, then I wanna see him one day."
She didn't really want to. The tenant seemed to be quite a surly guy. Hardly came out, never spoke to anyone, always noisy. It was as if a silenced bull was locked up in there, judging by the loud noises he made. Addison wasn't sure if that was how the Superhero acted in real life.
Well, judging by what she knew, Superhero seemed to be kind of an antisocial guy too, never once acknowledged her, didn't even look at her directly in the face—even when he wore a mask to conceal himself, never spoke a word too. All he did was come in, eat, and disappear.
And then he stole her cheese bun during her last encounter.
But still left without a word.
Maybe he is their housemate all along? Just that they didn't know? Maybe...***
Jordan parked in a spot near the entrance and stopped the engine. Addison unfastened her seatbelt and grabbed her bag.
"Let's go," Jordan said, opening the door to get out.
Addison got out too and decided to fix herself in front of Jordan's car window. She smiled at her reflection and turned to leave when there was a familiar antique red car that was parked across Jordan's.
"Jordan, isn't that the new tenant's Fiat?" Addison pointed out. "Is he a student here?"
They both went closer to take a look. Sure enough, it was the same car. It was surprising how it was outside the rental home for the first time, right in their campus at that.
"I wonder which course he's taking..." Addison wondered. "Or what he looks like."
"I know how to find out," Jordan smirked.
"How?" Addison asked, interested.
"Easy," Jordan smirked. "Just listen for loud bangs. We can find that guy."
Addison snorted. "Good one."
They laughed, joking and making fun of their housemate, as they made their way to one of the restaurants to have breakfast. They decided to spy on the car after their classes to see who the owner was. At least they would finally know the identity of their mysteriously noisy housemate.
