"We'll be home later my love," Josie said as she and Hope kissed their son.

They had never left him with anyone, one of them was always there with him so they were both kind of worried but they were staying strong.

"Okay, now you two go to school! you're going to be late! and Lizzie is already complaining" Caroline said taking Brooks from Josie.

"One more kiss," the brunette said going to kiss her son.

Caroline turned away "nope you're gonna want to give him more after the one, get going girls."

"Fine" she sighed and walked out of the mansion with Hope.

"I miss him already," she said as they go into the car.

The tribrid chuckled "he'll be fine he's with your mother."

"I know that but still" she sighed.

"You'll get through it okay?" she took Josie's hand in hers and squeezed it.

She gave her a small smile.

"Now let's go get coffee I won't make it through this day if we don't."

When they walked into the entrance of the school Josie was basically tackled by her twin when the blonde hugged her.

"A warning would be nice" she giggled.

"I missed you just let me have this" she held her tighter.

"Josie."

Lizzie felt the brunette go stiff in her arms when she heard their father's voice.

"It's okay..." the blonde twin whispered before pulling away.

"Dad" Josie shakily said.

Sensing how uncomfortable and scared Josie was Hope came to her side and interlocked their hands.

Alaric followed the movement and looked at their hands before looking back up at his daughter "are you ready for classes?"

"Yep..." she held up her books.

Alaric hummed "good well get going breakfast is being served."

The three of them hurried along and made their way to the dining hall where they
saw all their friends sitting at the table.

"Jo!" MG said getting you from the table, he ran over to her and pulled her in for a hug.

"I missed you," he said with a smile before pulling away.

"I know but I'm back now" she smiled back.

Maya who was sitting next to Landon looked at Hope and Josie's linked hands.

"So where were you, Josie? you've been gone for months" Maya suddenly asked causing everyone to look at her.

"Uh- I was just- away with my mom everyone knows that."
