'Have you talked to Debbie about this?', vroeg Debbies vader. 'No. That's just weird. We dont know how to tell her.', mompelde Noah. 'I can call her and ask to come here?', stelde Debbies vader voor. We keken elkaar aan en knikten. Debbies vader liep naar de keuken en pakte zijn telefoon.
We hoorden Debbie aan de andere kant van de lijn opnemen. 'Hey sweetie, can you come here for a second? We really need to talk, Millie can come with you.', zei hij. Niet veel later legde hij neer.
Debbie moest de straat maar oversteken en ze was al thuis dus het duurde niet bepaald lang voordat ze binnenkwamen. Ik zag de verbazing op hun gezicht toen ze ons zag zitten. 'What's wrong?', vroeg Debbie. 'Take a seat.', zei Debbies vader.
'So Debbie you dont know much about your past. So i'll tell you the whole story. One day i went to work. I saw you on the side of the road. You didn't know anything anymore and you were traumatized. I took you to the hospital. The cops went to the place where i found you. A few miles away from that place they found a car with two dead body's. We didn't know who those people were but we knew you weren't safe because in the back of the car the cops found knifes, guns and tape. People were thinking the dead body's were your parents. They found your DNA on the car and they figured out what your name is: Debbie. But they didn't know who your parents were. So we adopted you. That's the story. Why we tell you is because Noah had a sister who got kidnapped at the age of eight. Her name was Debbie. Its pretty weird i found you when you were eight and it looked like you were kidnapped. So we think you might be Noah's family. I know its a lot but do you want to do a DNA test?', vroeg Debbies vader.
