Chapter 46

Hudson's POV

"She didn't tell you?" Ashley asks. Of course not. Meredith is open to me but not about guys. She knows my reaction and wouldn't even think of telling me things like that.

"No." I say angrily.

"Ok, Hudson. I know you're cross at her now but she lost feelings for him years ago. I mean, she knew about the arranged marriage and didn't say anything about it. She's over him." Ashley tries to explain to me, but all I can listen to is them laughing.

"Oh, it's getting late. Ashley, do you want to go anywhere else?" Meredith asks.

"Umm, yes sure! Let's go to the main station." Ashley says nervously and I know exactly why.

As we arrive there Ashley and Meredith go to the H&M store and leave me alone. With Kerem. I try to avoid eye contact and we sit on a bench. But if I really think about it, it's not her fault. I mean I fell in love with a Turkish woman too.

Ashley's POV

"Oh God, Meredith I have to tell you something but don't be upset with me, please." I say as we walk into the H&M store.

"Why should I be upset?" She says easily.

"Because I accidentally told Hudson that you had a crush on Kerem." I say, afraid of her reaction.

"You told him what?!" She almost yells and I hush so she won't make a scene.

"Yeah, I'm really sorry I, thought he knows." I apologize. I feel really bad about it.

"Oh no and we left them alone!" She says and pulls me immediately out of the store.

When we look outside they're sitting on a bench not even looking at each other. This could be good but maybe it's also bad. Either Hudson told Kerem about Meredith's crush and it's a cringe moment because he didn't know or he didn't tell him anything but just avoids eye contact.

"Are you done yet?" Hudson stands up the second he sees us coming outside.

"Yes, let's go home." Meredith says and we all go back to Kerem's car.

While driving, Meredith and I are making eye contact. She points to her phone and I look at mine.

*Do you think Kerem found out?* She texts.

*I don't know but let's just hope he didn't.* I answer.

"Are you two texting? You didn't change a bit, what?" Kerem notices. We both smile nervously at him, but Hudson is somewhere in his world and probably didn't even hear him.

Meredith and I always texted each other if we wanted to say anything without others hearing us. We even stole our mothers' phones just to text for fun and bother Kerem.

*I think he doesn't know.* Meredith texted.

*I think so too.* I text back.

As we arrive at home Hudson walks straight into his room and Meredith follows him. I thank Kerem and he drives home. I walk also in my room and ten minutes later Meredith appears. She closes the door behind her.

"He didn't tell him but he's not mad." She says.

"What, really?" I am surprised.

"Yeah, but he asked whether I still like him." She looks confused. So am I.

"What's wrong?" I ask and she walks towards me.

"I don't know... I told him, I don't know." She looks at me like she saw a ghost.

"So you have feelings for him... again." I say.

"I think so. When I saw him again after years I felt something." We sit down on my bed.

When Meredith moved to England she had just graduated from high school. She already fell for Kerem back then but didn't tell him. Meredith moved away and forgot about him. She didn't want to know anything about him. Until I told her about the arranged marriage, but she didn't have any bad reaction to this.

"Hudson asked me to do something." She says and looks really upset.

"What?" I ask and hope it's nothing bad like forgetting about him or maybe she'll have to go back to England.

"He wants me to tell Kerem the truth." She says. What? He can't ask for that. It's none of his business, as he always says to others.

"But you aren't even sure about your feelings." I remind her.

"I told him the same. He says I have two days and if yes, I should tell him and if no I can keep the past to myself." She tells me.

"Why?" I am curious. I never thought he'd be like this.

"Because if I still like Kerem..." She stops and looks at me.

"Yes?"

"He finally has something against Kerem that will give him a chance to be with you." Meredith says.
