I stand there for a couple of minutes until Jihyo comes back with Yeji right behind her.
"Hey, Ryujin" she greets me.
"I'm sorry, I came too late. You're booked" I say.
"It's okay. The person scheduled with me yesterday so you wouldn't have been able to be with me even if you came early."
"I'm happy I still get to see you though. I had my mom drop me off because Chan wasn't home" I curse myself for mentioning my mom when I told my mom I didn't want her to drive me because it would be embarrassing.
"I have something for you" I remember the socks. I open my bag and I take the brand new socks and I hand it to her.
She gives me a questioning look, "Socks?"
"I didn't want to come here empty handed so I grab one of my unopen socks to give to you."
She chuckles, "You didn't have to get me anything."
"That would be rude and it would defeat the whole purpose of trying to be friends with you if I was rude" I look down while frowning as I start to question if I'm doing this friends thing correctly.
"Hey, I love it. Thank you" I hear Yeji say so I look at her again.
"I have to go back though. My client is waiting. I did want to hang out with you today" she has a small smile.
"Okay" I say and her small smile disappears.
"Okay then. I'll head back in now."
"Okay, bye" I wave at her.
She sighs before turning around. I don't understand how her expression changes so fast.
I'm about to leave then I realize that my mom is probably gone. I send a text to Chan to pick me up when he's available.
"Hey Jihyo, is it okay if I hang out until my ride gets here?" I ask.
"Sure, just find an empty table or booth inside" she says. She is just so nice.
"You're very nice, by the way" I say and she seems to be surprised by my statement.
She laughs, "Thank you. It's easy to be nice to people that are also nice."
"Thank you. My mom would be so proud to hear that. Do you mind if you say it again and I'll record it because she might not believe me" I take out my phone again.
My mom does worry sometimes that people might think badly of me or that I lack manners because of how I can act and speak at times so maybe she will be able to relax when she hears some stranger say that I'm nice.
I start recording and I hand her my phone, "Hi, Ryujin's mom. I just want to say that I think your daughter is very nice."
She hands me back my phone and I stop recording.
"Thank you" I say then I leave her to go in the main room.
I sit in a booth near Yeji and the guy that joined us before.
Yeji notices me and she has a confuse look on her face but I just smile at her. I take out my phone to play games. I then think of sending a text to Chaeryeong. I remember about my mom talking about me going on a date. I should ask Chaeryeong if she's interested.
I take out my phone to text her but I see that she's already texted me. She's just asking how I'm doing today. This is what I mean by she's so kind because she always ask how I'm doing but I always fail at texting her back or texting anyone back in general.
I ask her if she wants to meet up because I don't think asking someone out on date over a text is right. It doesn't seem like you're very serious if you do that. At least that's what Chan told me. He tells me a lot of things so it's hard to keep track of things. Felix tells me a lot of things too but I don't remember them much.
