Damian stared out of his window, washing as snow began to fall outside of the titan's tower. A tree was left decorated and forgotten in the corner of their shared longue and a tinsel was wrapped around the training's catwalk railings. Ceiling decorations filled the many hallways and cold baked cupcakes were left on the coffee table somewhere.
Christmas had reached the titans as much as it had everyone else in the world.
Families were gathering and Santa was slipping presents underneath the tree's and inside of stockings. Damian had long since heard Kory try to sneak around the tower to slip christmas gifts under the tree and inside the stockings left on their door handles. Hearing her return to bed soon after while he stayed awake.
They've kept to the basic christmas traditions since not all of them had a normal christmas growing up and while not all of them celebrate the meaning of christmas, they still cherish the time spent with their makeshift family.
Damian knew he wouldn't be given anything but what Alfred may have sent over in his father's place. He knew his father was off planet with the league and Alfred had decided to spend christmas with his old friends in England after hearing none of the other's would be returning to the manor this year.
Tim was with young justice for most of it before planning to spend boxing day with Bernard, his boyfriend but Tim has yet to announce to his family of detectives leaving them to pretend not to know.
Jason was away somewhere with Artemis and Bizarro. Mostly having their own small christmas holiday together and helping to teach the two none ex-robins over how to celebrate it.
Steph had flown out to be with Cass and spend the holiday with her. Duke flying down with her but returning on Christmas eve and spending Christmas day with Kate. The two planning to watch some old movies together that none of the rest of the family would have liked.
Barbara had plans with her father as always but have agreed to use her oracle side to keep an eye on Gotham on Christmas eve and day. Sending out a message towards Richard if something ends up happening and a hero is needed.
Richard.
Damian couldn't help but feel that strange squeeze in his chest at the mere thought of the original Robin.
A man who chose him worthy enough to stand as Robin and stay as him.
Someone who saw past his bloodline and saw a worth and goodness that his own father didn't try to search for.
Richard was willing to stand up for him, to defend him and protect him while his mother would have allowed him to get hurt and learn from his deathly mistakes.
Richard.
A beautiful man, both inside and out.
He was a sun, warm and bright and shielding them all from the bitter darkness that consumed so many.
He kept faith, in anyone and everything he's ever met.
