Side Note: Matching soulmarks Au. I like to think that your soulmark might tingle or glow whenever you actually meet your soulmate. Because at some point, some would have rather smiliar or even matching soulmarks but still not be the correct soulmate for each other. So, I like to cheat and have soulmarks give their own awkening when they finally match up.

He was born with his soulmark just as most are.

A few are sometimes born without one but by the age of five, everyone's soulmate's mark appears. It doesn't matter how much older, younger or similar in age soulmates are. By the age of five, everyone had one.

It could always be a plantonic soulmate or a romantic one.

No one knew until they met their soulmate and got to know them better. Not everyone walls in love just because a mark tells them they're joined in souls. Most don't actually marry their soulmate anymore, they stay friends or never even find each other and live their lives happily with someone else completely.

Times had changed from the old.

No one was shamed for marrying someone with a mark that didn't match your own nor did people live in fear over losing the person they love when their soulmate came along.

No one just left.

If a spark ends up happening, you simply break up with the other person as anyone would do with any relationship. The only time people were frowned upon was when they cheated purposely.

Time's had changed.

But soulmark's were always beautiful to someone.

Not every soulmark was seen as pretty or cool or steal someone's  breath away.

Soulmarks were  random, a mark trying to join two souls into a single mark.

It can be messy and ugly.

But everyone just treats a soulmark as a birthmark, something they couldn't control and couldn't change. They find beauty within it and live with it without any problem.

His soulmate was gorgeous.

The circus had always been in awe over his mark and his parents had always forced him to always be fully dressed, well, always have his back hidden from view to strangers.

Some Soulmarks still made people jealous or caught the wrong attention. Soulmarks were treated as special, as a bit of their own heart for some. If someone openly shows their soulmark willingly then it's fine but some still preferred privacy for their mark.

But the human race greedy, selfish and powerful.

Those with soulmarks that caught people's eyes due to it's beauty, always gained some form of trouble within their life.

His mark was spread across his back, right where wings would have popped out if he was born an angel or a bird. His shoulder blades were decorated with his soulmark.

A large Robin mid flight, wings spread wide and proud as a midnight blue seemed to outline it's red body with yellow lightening strikes shooting across the wings itself.
