Talon hasn't dared to speak his name since the final time he's heard it spoken by the man he loves.
Loves, not loved.
Because he had promised to stay loving the man until his own final breath.
He was still alive, even if his heart no longer beat, it still held that love for him.
Talon knew if the one he loves were to see him now, he'd be sad.
Talon never desired to sadden the one he loves.
But Talon has been left without the comfort of his lover for so long that he hasn't dared to chase happiness anymore.
He tried living on, smiling and finding joy in life.
But he only watched as life carried on after each birth and death, that life never waited for him to grieve.
Talon loves his lover.
Talon would forever love his lover.
Talon had promised forever.
Talon had thought forever would have lasted much longer for the both of them.
But with each passing year, he never once aged while his love did.
Black hair turning grey to white.
A handsome and young face filling with wrinkles.
Dark but bright eyes that grew from their youth and held wisdom.
An able body that soon turned slow and useless.
Talon was promised forever but where was his happy ending.
He escaped the court of owls.
He had gained his own freedom.
He had chosen love, not hate.
He had welcomed a future with the one he wanted.
He did good, saved lives and protected as much as he could.
So, where was his forever with the one he loves?
Why wasn't he rewarded with a happy ending?
Must his sins from a forced life of standing as a weapon grow his punishment even as he repented.
Talon wasn't happy anymore.
Talon didn't fly anymore.
Talon forgot the name that was once gently spoke by the one he loves.
Talon merely sits inside the mausoleum, resting beside his lover and staying loyal and loving to him forever.
Talon will stay waiting for as long as it takes for his lover to awaken from his nap and love him again.
They had promised forever, so forever he'd wait.
