Side Note: Marry Grayson was Ra's Al Ghul daughter born by a mistress. Making her Talia half sister, her older half sister. Mary escaped and made a life for herself with Haly's Circus. Finding love with John and starting a family. After the Grayson's death in Gotham by Tony Zucco hands, Talia learns about Richard and takes him in.

Batman wasn't Talia first or only soft spot in life. She had long since had a weakness before falling for Batman.

She would forever hesitate if it came to killing her sister, her half sister, Mary. In truth even Nyssa al Ghul, her "real" sister would hesitate at first too. Mary was born by a mistress but she held their father's blood and she proved her worth to be more than a mere tool used to simply act as a shield for any other Al Ghul member.

Mary was a fighter, more Ra than Talia or Nyssa was. She was ruthless, fast, strong and so silent that she's managed to snuck on up their Father at least once in her life. An act that rarely anyone else has ever been able to do before.

Mary may have been older than Talia but she was never made as heir for the throne. Not because she didn't hold the worth but because her blood was as strong as Ra would have wanted. A mistress for a mother wasn't the correct blood to sit on the Al Ghul throne on infinity island.

The League of Assassin needed an emperor, not a mere mayor.

Nyssa saw it as her chance to be the true heir until Talia was chosen instead. Mary seemed both happy and sad for her title. Knowing Talia would forever be trapped to the league of assassins and under Ra's control. But she knew Talia would stand as a good queen, if she chose the correct path when the time came.

Mary stayed supportive why Nyssa had left to train elsewhere and try to prove herself worthy enough to be the heir instead. But it was clear that Ra would never change his mind unless a grandson is brought to him instead. A male heir was more desired by him but he accepted the fact he was only given daughters in his life.

Talia was raised by her father's demands but was blessed with kindness and love. Mary would train with her or find her later, patch up her injuries with such honest and good affection. She'd adore Talia and spoil her in her own way. She  gave Talia a tough of how a loving and caring family should be.

Mary was barely older and yet, she was so pure hearted and mature that she could step in as a mother at any second it was needed.

She was Talia's first weakness, the first soft spot grown within her. She had loved her sister dearly and would have been unable to kill her if their father ordered it so.

And maybe Mary knew that or she simply couldn't handle the league of assassin or Ra anymore. She left one night. No warning to be seen or a letter in her disappearance. She had left without a word and Talia had felt apart of her own heart go with her.

Mary might have seem too nice to be apart of the Al Ghul's bloodline but Talia knew just how strong her sister was. She had survived their father's lifestyle and kept her empathy and compassion when no one else could. Talia respected and admired her sister's strength.

But times passes on and she grew to fill the role their father expected of her. She trained harder, became curler and to be the most powerful beside her father. She was being the heir she was demanded to be and she only grateful that her sister wasn't there to witness her growth.
