Side Note: Dick was adopted by Scarecrow and experimented on until he was immune to any form of fear gas and fear itself. Damian being the one to find the boy and taking him in. 

The Batfam's hero names..

Damian - Shadow Bat. (Was once Batboy)

Duke - Signal (I didn't wanna change it)

Tim - Cardinal. (Was once Batboy after Damian was fired)

Steph  - Purple Hood. (She was gonna steal Red Hood from the Joker who killed her but decided to mess with him more by changing his name. To insult him by acting as if the name could be so easily messed with and mocking him with it)

Cass - Batlas. (I hate myself for this but I just had a mind fart and this was written instead)

Jason - Red Bat. (Chose a new name after knowing "batboy" held some troubled history within the family)

Barbara - oracle. 

Bruce - Batman. 

Jonathan Crane was long since lost, Scarecrow was the one in full control. Everyone had watched the two separate lives of the man slowly marched and fight until only one side survived and took full control of the body. A smart man had became lost to his own obsession and without help, he'd stay lost forever.

 

And Damian finally returns from Blüdhaven for the weekend to mostly visit Duke and Pennyworth. Pennyworth stepped up as a father more than his actual father did. But of course his father would always be his father while Pennyworth became a grandfather to him. Not a power hungry and overly controlling grandfather as Ra's was. Pennyworth showed how a caring, loving and supporting grandfather acted and showed him respect as a person not from a title forced by birth. 

Damian knew he didn't have a great relationship with his father or his .. siblings. He was to blame for some of it but not all of it. His father tripped them both into this path of bitterness and hate-love relationship they've all gained now. 

His father took him in, not as his son, but as a threat to keep an eye on. He adopted him just to make sure he didn't past whatever line his father his drawn in his own head. He saw him as an assassin, as someone dangerous and not a child.

Damian chose to be Batboy, he held the skills to be his father's partner and hoped that but showing he was skilled and smart like his father. His father would accepted him. Maybe even be proud of him and teach him to one day be a better Batman. 

His father trained him all right, tried to train him into being like him. Tried changing Damian out of his "wrong" ways and doings. Damian stopped killing out of respect to his father but apparently that wasn't enough. 

His father never trusted him nor did he learn to love him as a son, one who had once admired him and wished to have been like him long ago. Now, hurt and hated was grown between them. 

Damian was never going to be the son that his father had dreamed of having and Batman wasn't never going to allow Damian to have the father he had once begged for and deserved.
