Dick focuses his gaze before the small team of young heroes. His fond gaze looking towards the one that asked such a question.
He knew not everyone was taught over soulmates, not every planet had them like earth did. Knew most was curious over them while some from earth wondered how soulmates worked while being a hero.
Every mask is asked over soulmates at some point.
A bittersweet smile filled his lips, he couldn't change the past and why not all soulmates reach a happy ending. He wasn't one who'd act out on others who didn't know over his own sad story.

Rant:
Okay so like... Dick would have a sad soulmate story.
Birdflash or Roydick kinda fits it better with the whole one of them dying or them getting into a fight and growing a distance between them afterwards.
Or all three of them. Wally's death being a breaking point for Dick and Roy, neither able to stay close when their soulmate circle is left incomplete and leaving them feel the cold gap left behind. Forcing them to keep away to hide from the feeling of missing by losing one of their soulmates.
But Dick would still talk over soulmates.
He'd thrive on those memories he held over his soulmate/soulmates.
He'd explain soulmates to the aliens, he'd explain how it works while being a mask and give a positive teaching over them. Even when admitting how sad having a soulmate/soulmates could be sometimes.
Warning them over the heart break and the empty feeling left behind when you lose one/both.
