Another alien invasion had gained all available Justice League members called in as well as league allies that would be willing to fight to defend their planet. All hands were on deck for a almost ten straight hours.

Breaks were given in the form of waiting for the next wave of attack to come.

The aliens were defeated, dealt with and already running home to never bother earth again unless they're after a friendship with the planet.

Medical treatment was currently being given out, civilians were safe at home and back to their normal lives, or as normal as they can be. Barely any buildings were damage as the aliens weapons were part of their own bodies and meant that unless a crowd gathered around a building, none were actual damaged.

It meant less clean up but it also meant that a lost of costumes were ripped, burned and ruined. Everyone was forced to keep a distance with the aliens while also having to get close enough to inject them with a formular that blocked their powers and made it easier to knock them out and detain them.

Batman stayed behind in the watchtower, doing his report for Gotham and added a file to the watchtower system. Leaving him to place his children in the care of the person he trusted more than himself.

And he wasn't left disappointed as he finally returned to the cave. Slipping out of his costume and showering. Heading upstairs to the manor in a set of comfortable pyjama's to check on them all.

Finding all his children tucked in bed, all fast asleep and dressed in their own pyjamas. Even Tim was fast asleep, not faking it and Jason had stayed in the guest room. Steph star fished on Cass's floor with a blanket thrown over her, clearly Cass had kicked her out of the bed.

The last one out of bed he soon found to out on the decking, asleep in the arms of the person they could both trust.

He'd fly through the air with the greatest of ease,
That daring young man on the flying trapeze.
His movements were graceful, all girls he could please

And my love he purloined away.

Damian was still dressed in his robin uniform, minus his domino. Fast asleep and relaxed in Dick's hold, the man still dressed as Nightwing minus his own domino. Singing to the boy as he swayed and walked around on the decking, comforting the boy in his arm and making sure he felt safe enough to dream sweet dreams tonight.

Bruce stayed in the doorway, leaning a shoulder against the frame and taking in the sight. He was a tiny bit jealous, knowing his youngest will never feel comfortable and safe enough to break down and act his age before him completely, not like he trusted Dick enough to act his age. Dick was Damian's safe bubble, let the boy break down, to cry and whispers his fear out loud.

Dick stayed humming  the tune, twirling the precious boy in his care slowly and with great care. Feeling the boy's heavier weight, proving he was truly relaxed and asleep. Leaving him to finally turn back in the direction of the back door and hope to tuck the boy in an actual bed.

He was met with the love of his life watching him, a fond and warmth look in his eyes. A gentle smile pulled on his lips.

Jealously long go as the man enjoyed the quiet moment he was blessed to watch in his home. A moment that remined him over what he was protecting, what he was fighting for when things became too tough to carry on without a reason.

"He wanted to stay up and wait for you to come home. I was able to get the others to bed a couple hours ago" Dick broke the silence, still rocking their son in his arms as if he was the most important precious thing in the world, and he truly was one of many in their household.

"Is he hurt?" Bruce asked, concern clear in his eyes as he looked his son's dirty and ripped uniform over.

"A few bruises and grazes like the rest of us. His grappling line broke today. It was close. Caught him in time" Dick anwsered, explaining what had shaken the ex assassin up so much that Dick had found them a quiet spot for the boy to break down in.

"I'll work on making the wire stronger. Try and limit this from happening again" Bruce promised, serious and already thinking up new ways to improve their grappling lines.

"It's not anyone's fault. Just be glad that the day didn't end with-" Dick started to say with a small smile, wanting to reassure his partner before chocking, struggling to even finish his sentence. Unconsciously holding his boy just that little bit tighter.

Bruce was by his side, one hand on their son's back and the other on his own. Comforting and protection, promising that he was right there with him. He leaned over, pressing a kiss to his forehead, comforting him without words.

"It was just like my parents. Watching him fall. If I had hesitate a single second he would have ... It would have happened all over again" Dick sobbed, leaning into his partner and just having flashes of his parent's deaths all over again.

"You saved him. You were able to save him. He's alive. He here. Breathing. He's right in your arms with a pulse. He didn't fall" Bruce promised, voice soft but firm as he reminded his partner that their youngest was alive and safe. That he was able to catch him in time.

Dick just hummed, sounding almost like a wounded animal before kissing his partner and taking the comfort that came from the love and warmth. Pulling away with a happy hum and glancing down at the boy in his arms, smiling down fondly.

Soon enough the two were heading back inside and towards the youngest Wayne's bedroom. Tucking him in and pressing goodnight kisses to his forehead before leaving the room with the promise that they'd be right by the boy's side if he woke up needing them.

Both checking on all the other kids, even if some where at a legal age to drink and live by themselves now. Smiling as they were all fast asleep and safely tucked in.

Linking their hands together as they strolled back to their own room, enjoying the quiet moments blessed to them after such a tough moment of their lives.

A/N: This didn't turn out very good. I had something pictured in my mind over Bruce walking in on a sweet moment between Dick and Damian. But I just kept deleting whatever I wrote until I decided to keep this version.
